My wife and I just moved up to The Villages (Feb 09) from Cape Coral, FL and have met quite a few people in our Village (St Charles). We are looking to meet other people and are opened to suggestions on how to meet others.

So far, we love it up here in The Villages, which is quite a difference from Cape Coral as it is today.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

Hi Guy,

Welcome. A good place to meet folks is the squares. Next week Rocky & the Rollers are in SS one night and LSL another. I think they are the best entertainment the squares offer. Come and mingle.

Hi Guy, sorry you missed the TOTV lunch today. That would have been a perfect place to meet lots of people. As Kate says, anytime at the squares, especially LSL under the clock, and you will see many of us there. Kinda hard to mingle at Rocky's, its usually so crowded but try it, it might work. Welcome to TV!!!

Hi Guy! Keep posting in this forum, and you'll get to know many people. Then go to next month's luncheon and you get to put a face to the name.

You can also go to the rec centers and pick up a recreation news. There are so many clubs, there is bound to be something that would be of interest to you and your wife. Attend a meeting!

Hi Guy!

My husband & I also bought a home in St. Charles. Where are you located? We won't be moving there full-time until June, 2010 though. We will be down this June and then again in July and look forward to meeting our neighbors. You can PM me if you don't want to put too much info on the board.

Hi KATHIEI.

Thanks for the information.

We would be interested in getting on the luncheon list. How does one go about doing so?

Marilyn,

We live in the Hortensia Villas, which is a fairly new development, but is rapidly being filled up. Only a couple of villas available.

We are permanent residents having moved from Cape Coral, FL where we lived for 7 years.

Both my wife and I are originally from The Bronx and lived in Charlotte, NC and Fort Worth TX (job transfers) and retired to Cape Coral.

We've made quite a few friends here, mostly from our neighborhood and are looking to meet others. I understand that TOTV has a monthly luncheon. We intend to get involved in this group.

Maybe we will get to meet you and your husband at one of the TOTV luncheons.

Regards,

Guy/Anna

Hi and Welcome. Keep logging on to this website and there will be a reminder every month about the luncheon. No sign-ups required.

I just wanted to ask if you're the Guy Riccardelli that used to live in Rhinebeck, NY?

No I never lived in Rhinebeck NY.
We did live in Yonkers, NY; Tappan, NY; Slate Hill, NY (Orange County);Charlotte NC; Keller, TX; Cape Coral, FL and, now, The Villages.

Didn't know that there were Riccardelli's living in Rhinebeck and, also with the same first name, "Guy", which really is "Gaetano" in Italian.

Thanks for the info you provided about the luncheons.

Scottke, I didn't grow up in Yonkers. I grew up in The Bronx and moved to Yonkers when I got married. In one of my messages listing the places that I lived, I forgot the most important one; The Bronx.

JeanneBeannie,
Did you know a family by the name of "Costello" who lived in Cobleskill? That had to be in the 50's & 60's? I knew a girl who was a cousin of my friend when I lived in The Bronx. Forgot her name.

Guy

JeanneBeannie,

Good luck on selling your house. The nice weather will hopefully make it easier to sell your house.

I actually live outside of Albany in the Town of Bethlehem. I'm waiting to put my house on the market until next year because I can't retire yet anyway.

In fact if you dont mind, I will ask her if you want me to. She has an Aunt in Ocala, so is praying I move to TV so she will have an excuse to take a vacation lol. :pepper2:

Jeanne,

I think the girl's first name was "Ann" who, probably would be in her late sixties by now.
Would appreciate it if you could find something about her.

Thanks,
Guy

Thank you Niels! In this market I need all the good luck I can get lol. I have an open house for all the realtors coming up, so hopefully that will help. I bet you cant wait to retire, maybe the market will be better when you are ready to sell...I hope so!
