On my way!

I will be moving from Miami to TV on May 8th. I am single and moving alone. I don't know anyone there and as my move gets closer I am becoming a bit apprehensive. Any suggestion from anyone who is or was in the same position? I would appreciate any advice I can get!

There are many of us who were in your position. Keep posting on TOTV and let us know how your move is progressing and we'll make sure to greet you at the town square when you arrive. I made many friends via TOTV before I actually got here. See, you already have a friend - me. AND, wait 'till KathieI reads your post. She will definitely make sure you have a welcome committee waiting. This is the most wonderful place and you won't regret the move.

Well, we are also from So. Florida (Plantation) and have a place in Bonita....so welcome. We're are not there full time yet, but get there at least monthly until I retire in January. You will love it and Peazoup is right....KathieI will have you involved with everyone in no time.

I hope you have a great time when you arrive at TV. I know you will, and the other girls are right, I am sure you will make friends in no time at all. I havnt been there yet, but have made many wonderful friends here on TOTV. :pepper2:
I am single also, and will be moving alone too. It is a big step so I understand you feeling apprehensive or overwhelmed with the whole thing....I know I am :faint:. I cant wait to get there to live full time, hopefully in the fall...as soon as I sell my home :bowdown:. My apprehension is being so far away from my son (NY), and it doesnt help matters that he wont fly ugh!! :shrug:.

Hey Vivian, welcome to THE VILLAGES!!! :welcome:
You will have so many friends here there won't be time for apprehension. We will keep you so busy with our activities and socials and there won't be a moment to feel alone. When we meet a lonely woman, we say, your not lonely any more, you found us!! And the group grows daily. Lots of fun and support.
