Many of you know the quest that we've had to become Village residents. We've gone from what to buy in TV, when, and now await results of inspectors and financing for "our" potential new owners. Anxious is an understatement. If this deal goes through it will be 1 year that it took us to sell. Price it right and you can move it. BS!!! There is NO pricing it right in todays market in many areas of the country. We got beat to death just to get some action. So friends we're not outa the woods yet but when we are you'll HEAR about it.

F16,

Finally! It is so good to hear good news about trying to sell in this market, a market that we have never seen anything like. Your beautiful home would have sold in about 15 minutes had the market been even a normal one.

I wish you and yours the best and I will be watching for your report on the happy ending.

:girlneener: I am so happy for F16 and his wife! I am sure we will be right behind them ( I hope). St. Joe is in the front yard between the petunias and verbena and the purple stuff and he is getting tired of sitting in dirt. We are so anxious to get to TV and hopefully you can concentrate your positive energies on getting our house sold too. I think our pups would love to play with 16's new baby. Cant you just see them and the schnauzers all playing in Kathie's new fish pond?

Congrats on an agreement. I hope all will go smoothly from here on out. As with many of the other posters, I hope I won't be far behind. You give us hope.

F16...I am so happy for you and Mrs F and the pooches. Here's hoping all goes smoothly with the deal and you have the check in hand sooner than later. Then, you can pack up the truck and move to Had-er-ly, Had-erly Village that is (sung to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies theme song).... take your shoes off, set a spell. :crap2:

Yee-hah!!!

Hmmm - Guess I was busted driving around the other day in TV with the top down and a ladder sticking up out of the passenger side. I couldn't help it. It wouldn't fit with the top up. LOL

My wife talked to our real estate broker about listing our house in Norcal. We have used him 3 or 4 times since 1980. He said the value of houses in our area has dropped nearly 50% and you need at least $50K in remaining equity after payoffs to mortgages to cover sales expenses. If you don't meet those requirements and you want to leave your house; either rent it or walk!

Me thinks the Feds need a bunch of more bucks to cover this mess -

Congratulations and my prayers for the final closing papers. It has been a long haul but will be worth in in the long run. I am jealous and praying more than ever to St. Jo for a sale.

F16 - You have given all of us hope that we can sell now too!!! Keep painting your new house and hoping that it will all turn out fine! All of the wannabees who turn into "villagers" this year after our houses sell need to have a celebration party! See ya there!

Congratulations!

I think things are finally picking up - at least in some areas. After 6 months on the market and one contract that the buyers walked away from due to cold feet, we had two offers within 2 days. Once the first offer was on the table (which included an onerous contingency), we experienced a very rare phenomenon in this market - we as the sellers finally had some leverage. The second couple that came through spent 35 minutes in the house and then made a full-price, cash offer on the spot! (Of course, "full price" means our most recent asking price which was after a series of price reductions.)

We had our inspection yesterday and are now in the critical "buyer's remorse" period. Based on our last experience, I'll feel a lot better if the deal is still together a week from now.

CONGRATULATIONS! and best of luck f16 & Barb.

We have dropped our price by 35%, its definitely priced to sell. As I have said its going to take someone as weird as I was to buy that house to begin with!! LOL :loco:

Im keeping fingers, & toes crossed now, no need to cross brain waves, they're a tangled mess already!

Happy to hear about some luck in selling up "North" and moving down here. I have friends in Delaware who have been trying and even with St. Joseph's help, no luck yet. This is a great place to live and I hope anyone who wants to move here gets the opportunity.
