We went to Los Magueyes tonight in Wildwood; they have doubled the size and tonight there was a Mariachi band. Both the food :mmmm::and the band were great. :BigApplause:

Agree............It is our Favorite Mexican restaurant. We were there last night, and usually at least once a week.
It is off Main St. in Wildwood. there is a strip mall with an Ace Hardware in it, also post office and other stores. Los Meguyes is on the other end of that strip near the furniture store.

Have not been there since Tuesday and will be going there tonight after golf. Our favorite restaurant "in" The Villages. The fresh quac is wonderful.

The last time we were there they were making Margaritas with wine, has that changed? Did not care for the wine version, like the tequila so haven't been back because of the drinks.

Never had one made with wine. The ones I have there are made with Tequila.

Just checked and the statements below I posted on an earlier thread are still correct. Their food is very good though.
Los Tres Magueyes Mexican Restaurant liquor license is 2COP. From the Florida ABC website that means: Beer and Wine Consumption on Premises (2COP).
If they were using tequila they would require: Beer, Wine and Liquor Consumption on Premises (4COP, 5COP, 6COP, 7COP, 8COP).

That's close and I never heard of them, so don't be afraid of adding some info. Looking at their website the photos make me hungry and they have some nice meals for $8.99. They're in the Shopping Center with the post office and Ace Hardware.

This Post is absolutely right. The restaurant cannot " Not " serve Margarita's with Tequila..so there you have it. :plane:

That's probably because they only have a beer and wine license. If you sell more than 51% in food sales, a restaurant can get a liquor/beer & wine license for consumption on premises pretty easily unless the county already has too many. For a restaurant I can't see not getting the whole license, I think beer & wine is about $300 and with liquor it's about $2,000. Maybe they didn't spring for the liquor portion.
As far as package stores in Florida, that's whole different story. Florida quit issuing package liquor licenses sometime around 1939, so when you see a package store open, chances are somewhere else one closed. Now since Florida is always growing, everytime we add 7,500 new residents they will add one new liquor license. For a fee you can be in the lottery to maybe win that license. They are valuable. They are property just like a home or car and can be inheritable. They normally resell for between $50,000 to $750,000 depending on the demand. That's one reason if you ever looked for a liquor store for sale, you'll wonder why that little shop costs $500,000 and they don't even own the building, that's why.

We were there last night. Right now the service is much slower than in the past. I'm guessing they are still gearing up to their new size. Food is still great.

We were there a few nights back - great food. The band was all over the place...and very good (there are other words to that "Tequila" song...who knew?)
Then my partner asked what song we would request...(seriously) my response was "Born in the USA"...they didnt make to our table.

Ate there this evening and they now have a full liquor license and margaritas made with tequila. I tried one, and for my taste, it was far from the best I have had. However, they are still an improvement over the wine based versions previously available.
Food sdtill is some of the best Mexican in the area.

I almost drove by it, it's so inconspicuous. They could up their business with a sign near the street. I stopped in after discovering it accidentally. Camarones la Diabla was outrageously good. Also the chilis rellenos.
