Plymouth, Oldsmobile, & next the Corvette???? I just discovered this morning, and really no surprise, about the closing of the High Performance Vehicle Division used for the Caddy CTS-V and the Corvette ZR-1. Too much of a carbon footprint left on Mother Earth? Lousy gas mileage? Maybe - Or did GM cave in under pressure by the new administration? Although my fiberglass, plastic, aluminum, steel, composite, wood vehicle, (Yeah wood - floorboards are encapsulated balsa wood) attains speed in excess of 19.1 mph, it gets 28-30 mpg while cruising the highway at 75 mph @ 1650 rpm's. MPG would increase if fuel wasn't watered down 10% ethanol. I just completed a trip from TV averaging 28.6 mpg. Another 1 bites the dust? I hope not.

That is a good question. But I would think before they do that, they would just add the ability to build more models at the Bowling Green Plant.

It's certainly possible in this environment that Corvette might get cut - Nothing would surprise me at this point.

They've already announced their intention to ax Pontiac and they want to get rid of Saturn, Saab and Opel. I hadn't heard about cutting the High Performance Vehicle Division.
