politician....me first in action. We all know they will say and do anything....ANYTHING!!!....to get re-elected...EVEN SWITCH PARTY.
Now doesn't this way too long in the tooth....been in the job too long ...incompetent....just stir confidence in him barf.....and the system that allows such tactics :ohdear:..screw those that elected him/their party to his current position...
and the receiving party that celebrates the move only because it strengthens their party agenda....regardless his action or low caliber accomplishment....and turncoat.
A pitiful testimony to the dregs that are our named by the "constitution" as representatives of we the people...a historical non existent concept.
Apathy keeps on letting the liars, cheaters, crooks, lechers, whore mongers, do as we say not as we do, all for them selves greedy politicians....successfully remain in office...no matter the crime, the violation or the lack of representation. We the people, asleep at our responsibility.

Remember, the RNC cast the first stone by saying that they would no longer support Sen Specter due to his "moderate" views and voting record.
The present system heavily favors lifetime professional politicians. We can only "vote the bums out" of our own states and districts. Term Limits are needed, but what are the odds?

You are right, Kayaker. The only way to get term limits is for congress to vote for it. They aren't going to vote themselves out of a job. A cushy one, besides. As for Specter, he isn't a moderate. I wish he would take the rest of the RINO's with him.

by just not voting for the incumbent....just have to get somebody to run against them.
And until such time as the constitution is retired (they are working at it)....we the people can create a mandate by making ourselves heard. The comfort the incumbents have is that will never happen.
It all comes back to apathetic voters in the USA.

Why tell the whole truth, it is soooo un-liberal. Besides half of the truth sounds so much better.

Kayaker.....I listened to and read the links you provided as evidence that you actually offer a source for your comment, "Remember, the RNC cast the first stone by saying that they would no longer support Sen Specter due to his "moderate" views and voting record." Nothing in them remotely suggests anything about the RNC not supporting him due to his "moderate" (your word) views and voting record. Specter is anything but moderate. He is a liberal. The GOP has indicated they may not financially support him in his primary battle. Nothing new. In fact, in the Reagan Diaries the late president is critical of Specter for blocking Republican judicial nominations and says he will not campaign for him. He has always been a RINO who coat-tailed Reagan to squeak into office only to undermine the GOP and Reagan.
Apparently, it is the prospect of losing the Republican primary that appears to be motivating Specter. Pat Toomey's strong appeal in early polling looks like he will beat Specter. So.......I guess its more of a selfish self preservation motivation on the part of Specter than the attribution to the RNC and Specter's....gag..."moderate" views.
Have a nice day.

then that must make Obama and the 61% of the American People who support him... Oh my God, that means that they must be anti-American Marxist-Leninist Anarchists! And the 21% of dittoheads and ********** who believe the Republic party is the "real" voice for America- well I guess we'll just call them moderates.

Two points. 1: Despite the press's infatuation with Obama and total lack of responsible reporting, Obama's approval rating doesn't differ that much from any preceding president at the infamous 100 day mark. About the only ex-pres who had far lower numbers was Clinton.
Point 2: Drop the Nazi BS. It just make you look like a fool and counteracts any possible good assertion you may have made previously.
Oh, and one more. Why the "**********" comment? Are you as fixated with gay sex games as the folks at MSNBC or are you just imitating Keith Olbermann? You really don't need that stuff to legitimately discuss any issue, even political.

Sen. Spector and the rest of the 10-15-20-30 year Congressional incumbents - party notwithstanding - are neither liberal, moderate, conservative or inside-out. They are all simply opportunistic chameleons who will try to look like, be or claim to be whatever will get them re-elected. If they thought claiming to be from Alpha Centauri and/or direct descendants of Zeus and Hera would get them a few more votes, that information would be in their curriculum vita as "personal data."
