Fox News anchor Bret Baier on Friday apologized on-air for reporting that there would “likely” be an FBI indictment against the Clinton Foundation for alleged pay-to-play schemes.
"That just wasn’t inartful, it was a mistake, and for that I’m sorry. I should have said they will continue to build their case,” Baier told host Jon Scott on Fox’s “Happening Now.”
"Indictment obviously is a very loaded word, Jon, especially in this atmosphere, and no one knows if there would or would not be an indictment no matter how strong investigators feel their evidence is," he added.
Baier said he stood by his sourcing on the ongoing active investigation into the Clinton Foundation but added that a prosecutor would have to take the case and make it to a grand jury before an indictment could take place.
“[We] are working to get sources with knowledge of the details on the record and on camera, hopefully today,” he said.
Baier’s story drew immediate pushback from supporters of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and from other news networks, with NBC News, ABC News and CNN all reporting that his assertion was false.
Republican nominee Donald Trump on Thursday cited Baier’s report at a campaign rally in Florida, saying that “the FBI is conducting a criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton's pay-for-play corruption during her tenure as secretary of State."

All this going back and forth is pure political theatrics to distract voters. Forget content, etc by virtue of the fact that the Clinton Foundation was accepting money from foreign governments,

and by virtue of the fact that Hillary set up a personal e-mail server and then went systemically to destroying content and hardware,

and by virtue of the fact that Hillary ignored pleas from Ambassador Stevens for over a year to pull back from Libya because of security concerns

is more than enough to start an indictment

It is sad that we find so many American who do not believe, or understand or care for this precious gift we Americans have called rule of law where no one no, one is above the law.

An honorable man. He should have said that it was his opinion that there would be an indictment shortly. Then, what he said would be OK. She IS being investigated by the FBI and if they gather enough information, then an indictment could be requested. However, with the corruption in this administration as it is, there would be no indictment even if she was found to have murdered someone in cold blood.

As has been the Trump game plan from the beginning...the truth has never been a consideration.

The primary plan was to throw out a plethora of lies against the wall, to see if they could get some of them to stick in voters minds.

And of course...it has worked.

Kellyanne Conway: Clinton indictment claims may be inaccurate, but ‘the damage is done’ (https://www.yahoo.com/news/kellyanne-conway-clinton-indictment-claims-may-be-inaccurate-but-the-damage-is-done-193249003.html)

Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway admitted to MSNBC’s Brian Williams Thursday night that the Republican presidential candidate’s recent campaign-trail proclamation — that Hillary Clinton faces a “likely indictment” by the FBI — is based on inaccurate reporting. Still, she said, factual or not, “the damage is done to Hillary Clinton.”

History will show, that the real tragedy of this election is that there were so many ignorant people that hated the other candidate so much...that they didn't care what happened to their country. :(

They SHOULD have voted for neither. NO Ds or Rs. Because we ALL know that BOTH sides are corrupt.

Isn't it a shame that all these years it seemed like the left has had the franchise on nasty politics and now the right has lowered themselves down to the gutter to fight them at their own game?

Ask Harry Reid about telling lies about Romney's taxes. His reply was "he lost didn't he?"

Trump has chosen to ignore Baier's apology that the story was untrue. Trump has manufactured a few of his own detail to add to the pot and continue to use the Baier story as true. Trump, have you no shame at all ???

Trump will very likely be facing rape charges of a teenage female. First court appearance is in December.

Well, at least he won't be facing treason charges like Hillary. And you can play Harry Reid's game all you wish with your false narrative. When Trump wins, you will eventually come around. He'll be a president of ALL the people, unlike the divisive Obama, and what Hillary would have been. Divisive politics is a lefty thing.

You didn't read the basis very well, it will get tossed has it has a few times.

But I understand a weak case like this compared to what Hilly has done with out National security and her foundation isn't something you're concerned about.

Fine vote for the Crook watch her get impeached.

It is going to cost the country a lot of money if Hillary is elected. These investigations and impeachment proceedings cost a boat load. But, she doesn't care because it's not her money.
