We were out on a ride tonight and drove through Sunset Ridge at Sunset Point....
WOW....Gorgeous homes and beautiful landscaping! The home on the left just as you drive in has it's own little putting green....not sure if it is used but it is such a nice landscaping touch!
If you live there...I love your neighborhood....just beautiful!!!
I have picked out my future home....but I need to keep working for a few more (20) years.....and just need to wait for it to go on sale!
PS...in case you don't know where this is....it is across the street from Cane Garden.

Cassie,
When Sailor and I were looking to buy, we, too fell in love with the area....we are just down the street from Cane Gardens and Sunset Pointe.

I know....that is how we found it...we went out to take a look at your FANTASTIC, beautiful POOL!!!
The homes in Sunset Ridge are similar to some of the Bridgeports....seemingly smaller lots and closer together....but I think it seems cozier!! A cozy neighborhood of HUGE homes! Love it!!!
PS....hope your neighbors did not call in a panic that there was a woman walking around your house taking pictures!! LOL!!
PSS...We are going to copy your pool....it is so perfect for a relaxing cool down and the hot tub for a warm up in winter! You have GREAT taste my friend! No wonder we get a long! LOLOLOLOL

Agree Cassie. I to live in Sunset Pointe. And that whole area is really great. Close to LSL, very quiet, lots of golf, preserves, and great neighbors. We live on the Heron golf course and also have a pool. Sunset Ridge is really nice, but like where I am better.

We stayed there on our third lifestyle and loved the area. Heron is one of our favorite golf courses. Also, I agree Cassie.....I love Shirl pool and new landscaping...it is all beautiful.

Cassie...... I don't know why I hadn't considered that area  on the map it looks like it might be fabulous, in a central location and near the Liberty Park Eagle Preserve. Is it a real eagle preserve? Any eagles?
I'll definitely look over there, when I do my first Lifestyle Preview (still don't know when) .

And I thought I had picked out my favorite Village already! Must go Check Sunset Ridge out! Are there any big trees? I love big trees.
So I drove thru LaZamora and fell madly in love with it. Huge Oak trees lining the streets and beautiful older homes.
Does anyone live in LaZamora or know someone who does? Seems like homes never go up for sale in that Village.

CIB,
Yes, there is an Eagle Perserve. Sadley I heard a family of eagles never returned after the '07 tornado that went right through this area. Still there exists a large portion of land for wildlife - an area they will never build on.
Nonie,
Sunset Ridge is indeed beautiful, but like most of the villages south of 466 there are not any huge, old trees. All the landscaping is fairly new.

There are eagles in The Villages. One hunts from SamHass' tree. I saw it with my very eyes.

Yes, there are many eagles in The Villages. My point was since the tornado I do not think there are any eagles in the Liberty Park Eagle Preserve. The tornado destroyed several trees in the preserve.

The homes in Sunset Ridge that you are talking about Cassie, are Premier homes, the larger floor plans with a few more architectural touches inside and they are exactly the same floor plans and lot size as in the Villages of Bridgeport. Many villages have Premier homes intermixed. Now they have an area, brand new, called Pennecamp with beautiful Premier lots available as well and lots for all other styles too. You can tell an exclusive Premier area, they have double street lights.
The nicest thing about The Villages is that almost everywhere is a beautiful mixture of styles and sizes in homes. And once you choose, there is very little, almost none, house envy.
Of course, everyone's own village is their favorite. Hadley of course is the best.

I work for GMS, we manage the golf courses and the Golf Acadamy. With all the rain, business has been rather slow lately. My co-worker and I were discussing the different Villages and their locations, when we were joined by a customer. We were talking about were we lived and the newcomer to the conversation said he lived in Sunset Pointe. When my co-worker and I both mentioned we lived in Summerhill, this GENTLEMAN replied, " you guys live in the BLUE COLLAR section of the villages".
This is the first reference to class distinction, that I have ever heard muttered in the 18 months that I have lived here.
Everyone has heard the old adage,"one bad apple can spoil the whole barrel". Sunset Pointe's barrel is a little tainted.

How rude....
However, I have been blue collar the majority of my life and probably have more saved then this idiot. A guy who would make that kind of remark is probably New Money (inherited from parents). A man or women that worked and saved their entire life (executive, white collar, blue collar or self employeed) would never think or say something so pompous.:cus:

Take it as a compliment.
The term has come to mean hard-working and unpretentious. I'd be proud of it.

I live in Sunset Pointe and am as blue collar as they come. Grew up very poor on a small farm in NH. Find out where he lives so the rest of us "blue collar" Sunset Pointe neighbors can educate him. But the reality is, who cares. His loss if he thinks that way. And there are probably one or two like that in every neighborhood. But Sunset Pointe is still the best Village. :eclipsee_gold_cup:
