Blender Disposal

My KitchenAid blender died last night. I should say it burned up! I make my shakes in a blender everyday so that is a big deal for me. Anyway, can I throw it out in tomorrow's trash or do I have to dispose of it in some other way? Now, I have to go buy a new blender. Thanks!
