“I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.” – President Ronald Reagan
Reagan was pro-life. He was quoted as saying, "If there is a question as to whether there is life or death, the doubt should be resolved in favor of life."
In 1982, he stated, "Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
He saw "abortion on demand" as emotionally harmful.

That's backwards...until you can PROVE it is alive...it's a growth attached to the mother and it's her body. If it can't survive on it's own...it's a part of and dependent on the mother...so, her say goes. Would you want someone to implant something in you and tell you that you had to keep it there? I know, it;s a stretch of an argument, but it does have merit.
The problem I have with abortion is...the WRONG women are getting them. The affluent and educated do, the poor and stupid don't. We're being overrun.

So, at what age do you figure a child can survive on it's own, 15, 16 or 18 years old? How about when they get old or have an accident? If they can't survive without someone else's assistance, then we do away with them?
And yes, your implant scenario is a stretch. The difference in this issue is that you are already working at a deficit. You don't believe in GOD, therefore you have no stake in the game.
The law says a woman can abort. The argument is basically a moot point. Legally the female can commit murder, limited only to the fact that the baby has to be inside her. Once it is outside of her it becomes unlawful. That is a given. However, the gov should not be able to mandate that abortion should be funded by our tax dollars. I see no protection under the law that stipulates that the gov should be complicit in this form of murder.
On a personal note, after this election campaign, I can almost agree to support abortions, IF/IF only liberals were allowed to obtain one.
