View Full Version : Need attic staircase

Closing is scheduled for June 4 on our home in Amelia.
However, we will not be down to TV until the week of June 14 thru the 19th.
During this week we need to meet with the builder, orientation and pictures.
I would like to get a staircase put in the garage for the storage area if possible also during this period.
Any recommendations on a good reliable person to do this.
Names and phone numbers would be most appreciated.
Thanks a bunch.

Hi George,
We used Tim the Toolman (no I am not kidding) and he did a really good job. We also used him for our garage floor.
He is prompt (comes when he says he will), courteous and reasonable.

Kate (and Jim who really handles this kind of stuff)

We highly recommend Dave Castle. He's a Villager, and has had a handyman business here for quite a few years. He is very reliable, prompt, does great work, and his prices are reasonable. 352-750-1919

We also used Tim the Tool Man for the attic staircase and for the epoxy on the garage floor and were very pleased. He installed a sturdy aluminum stairwell since my husband made the attic his garage annex and is up and down several times a day to fetch or return his "treasures."

Be advised that when the attic stair guys say they put down "plywood floor" they usually mean "particle board" or "composition board" floors. When I objected after seeing particle board sheets, the guys said, "...that's what we call playwood down here."

Kate does Tim do anything? Like Tile floors and counter tops in granite?

Tim does alot. I dont know about Granite. Wouldnt hurt to check with him. He can do just about anything. Tell him the Cat in Bison Valley that used to live beside him said to call him. He will know who your talking about.
Good luck
Might try Wildwood Kitchen and Bath or Allstar in Southern Trace Plaza for the Granite.

Hi Army Guy,
Not sure about the granite or tile. I will say that Tim is really handy so he might be able to do that as well. We used Munz kitchens for granite work and Great Lakes Tile for the tile work on the floors and backsplash. Both Munz and Great Lakes are the contractors TV used in building our home and I would recommend both of them highly. (Mike at GL and Bill at Munz).
