I am researching writing a book or screenplay and have come to the part where I had a nervous breakdown around March 28, 2000.

Never mind about the details but I was mess for about 5 hours in the emergency room at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL. I was so pumped with drugs the next few days that I remember just about everything except I never even spoke to any attending doctors but the bills from these people came quite soon after that and there were many of them.

Anyway. A nurse put me under while I was yelling about 224 and 613 and trying to cast a movie from the people in the emergency room. I said that Clint Eastwood would direct and the doctor over there would be so-and-so.

I am trying to get an idea about what drugs would be used for this? I did hit the female nurse that was trying to put me under but only remember that vaguely.

Much of my story of my fight for materials in libraries for survivors/victims of crimes involve people putting my sanity in question rather than meeting the actual issue of a niche in information on its merits.

After the stay at Morton Plant Hospital they took me to a very low security facility -- one drug addict climbed over the back wall for instance and the doctor said she could go home if she wanted to so badly when they brought her back -- where I was there for a few days. The attendant told me to shut up with my telling the fellow patients about my experiences fighting the powers that be for putting my mental health in question rather than actually addressing the niche in information. He just told me to take my meds and get along with people so I could get out. Which I did soon after that.

But I would like to know more about what kind of drugs would be prescribed at the hospital as well as at the low security facility?

That was my only real mental health problem. Sixteen and a half years ago. And I did report to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office on September 18, 2002 what happened to put me there. I did get out of the Headquarters of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office after talking to a Criminal Intelligence (Homicide according to another Detective who told me to cool it with the e-mails about how the matter was going). The Detective I spoke to believed me and accepted maybe 106 documents backing up my story. The Detective who phoned me just wanted me to stop with all the damn e-mails to them.

I did have to see a psychiatrist for about 1.5 years after getting out of the low security mental health facility but the person I had would just up my dosage of medicine even if I showed her documents supporting my claims. I tried not taking the drugs to see what would happen and there seemed to be no real effect. I still experienced the same problems with or without the pills.

I hope the Peanut Gallery will keep the personal attacks to a minimum. This is still traumatic for me as someone set me up the weeks before to sound crazy when I related what I had experienced-- gaslighted me-- and this still causes pain to me and my family but we are a lot better.

I am trying to get an idea of the drugs involved in all this? What would be prescribed especially by people that never even talked to me about much of this or if I did mention it they did not believe me or did not care the least.

Tal, so sorry that you had to go through all that. You are not alone, millions have shared your plight. Unfortunately, mental illness is like the 800 pound gorilla in the room that no one talks about. And psychiatry is more like voodoo than medicine.

The other problem is that once a person is "labelled" with a psychiatric diagnosis, they are treated differently by society and the medical profession alike, and most credibility goes out the window. Just think about how your well documented complaints were received.

Could you have been admitted for what sounds like an anxiety disorder and never seen an attending psychiatrist? Probably not, you were drugged and not thinking straight, but it is possible. Half the psychiatrists need therapy themselves, I just think back to which individuals in my medical school class went into psychiatry. There was one "psychiatrist" in my small hometown that impregnated a patient that was homeless and living on the streets. He made Anthony Wiener look like an altar boy.

Back to the drug question--there are A LOT of psych meds and psychiatrists tend to be into polypharmacy. This isn't my specialty, but I'll speculate a bit. In the ER they were likely to use a benzodiazepine anxiolytic such as lorazepam or alprazolam. Given the alleged attack on a nurse, they may have also decided to use a neuroleptic antipsychotic such as haloperidol or prolixin, possibly with Cogentin to minimize anticholinergic side effects. Afterwards, if they assessed the problem to be anxiety related, they probably would continue an oral benzodiazepine, and if I remember correctly, around the year 2000, psychiatrists were in love with Seroquel and trazodone for the longer term.

Lastly, if anyone in the "peanut gallery" launches a personal attack upon you for relating this story, they would be writing out of total ignorance, and could use some psych meds themselves. Hope this helped

I met Dr. Seth Farber in Manhattan, who is an author on the subject. He is a little unorthodox but in my opinion a great thinker on the subject.

Works - Seth Farber, Ph.D. (http://www.sethhfarber.com/works.htm)

Imo, in many cases mental health professions, like the pharmaceutical industry don't want to cure but keep people feeding the gravy train for life.

I hope you find all your answers Taltarzac.

Thanks Golfing Eagles. I had gone onto Findlaw in 2002 to sue for malpractice the psychiatrist in the outpatient facility for about 1.5 years I had but the only law firm I could find which would even take my case wanted what seemed to take on everything and I did not seem ready for that nor would have been my family. And my father really wanted me to leave it alone.

It is easier to just tell the story with as many backup documents as possible on Facebook and then hope people will really dig into it. I am now getting a lot of help with that as far as I can tell. 20,124 views the last I looked on my Photobucket Album.

I do remember risperidone being one drug that the psychiatrist kept me on. This is the one that would just shake her head and up my dosage when I told her there was something else external to me going on. She would also say that is not my job to look into other matters. Risperidone - Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risperidone)

I tried to get the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMIs) Tampa Bay Chapter to help with this-- as it was weaponizing the mental health system to cover up what I still see as crimes-- but the woman in charge's daughter was under the care of this psychiatrist and she thought her quite good with her daughter. My bad luck popping up again.

I do believe that more people use psychiatry as a weapon but I really only have my experiences to go on.

And, of course, there are many people who really need these drugs I was just dealing with something else entirely.

The Scientologists were interested in doing a story on my experiences but I kind of thought they would use it for purposes quite foreign to mine. And I do not like it when people paint with too broad a brush which I often find in the Scientologist's attacks on psychiatry in general. Tom Cruise's rants for instance. My problem was with this one psychiatrist that only wanted to push pills and get me onto the welfare roles for people who are disabled. I refused to use this whole set of experiences to live off the government.

This also highlights another problem in psychiatry. Treatment is directed at the symptoms, since we don't know the cause. To speculated further, someone in the ER used the word "psychosis" after the alleged attack, and that term followed you through the facility and beyond. Risperadol is a second generation antipsychotic similar to Haldol. Even the outpatient psychiatrist reads "psychotic" and just ups the dose of risperadol. It takes her hours and hours to talk to you about the problem, but only 30 seconds to write a new RX.

Also, as you found out, a malpractice case under these circumstances is welcomed by lawyers like the plague. All that happens is the defense puts the plantiff on trial, tears you apart on the witness stand, and the chances of finding a jury that is not prejudiced against mental illness is minimal. We have a long way to go before we completely understand this family of illness and develop effective treatment.

Almost all the lawyers I contacted in Florida refused to represent me as they said I would have to be severely injured or dead for them to get paid. There was one in Chicago with offices in Tampa that seemed to get what was going on and they wanted to just go after everyone connected to my story. That would have been too hard on my family.

I did have Tom Cruise on my e-mail list for a few years and I suspect he did read some of those e-mails. He did go a little too overboard though and there are probably many stories like mine he heard about. Even had someone claiming to be George Clooney contact me while I was posting on Findlaw but that might just have been the libido of Vanessa D., a Lifetime Research Assistant who had been questioning me about doing a Lifetime story on all this. He said "I am George Clooney and I am dating Vanessa" or something like that in an e-mail. He did want to hear quite a bit about what was going on.

I have been running this story by Hollywood since at least 1992 maybe even 1991 but to reflect whatever was happening at that time.

Hollywood can spotlight a problem in very creative ways and often very subtle ones.

Vanessa D, is a very attractive woman BTW so she could have been telling the truth. She's still around. Not in CA nor FL though.

You are right about this outpatient psychiatrist being a 30 second one. She did not want to listen. So I tried a psychologist recommended by a Palm Harbor Library Volunteer Director and he had me take some tests but only talked to me for a very short time. I even lied on the test about some stuff trying to appear normal. He did confer with the pill pushing 30 second psychiatrist with my permission. After my taking one test and talking to this man trying to appear as sane as possible this man said he could sign me up for disability and recommended a Social Security Disability Lawyer. I told the disability lawyer flat out that I was not disabled and he dropped the case. A lot of this was just for family harmony. Going to this psychologist-- who seemed like he was ripping off the government-- along with the Social Security Disability Lawyer. He also seemed quite questionable.

I refused to go back to that quack of a psychologist.

As you no doubt know, a malpractice case has to be worth northward of $400,000 for any reputable law firm to get interested. It would be hard to show damages near that since they would all be subjective.

As far as the Hollywierd crowd goes, I'd be careful about anyone claiming to be anybody on the net----although Tom may be looking for converts to scientology---beware if Travolta contacts you next:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

This was back around 2003. And it was Tom Cruise's real e-mail address. I can talk to Hollywood people via message boards on Facebook. I did talk to one around May of 2016 via a private message but I do not know what she is up to now. She has Villages' connections-- the parents of one of her recent co-stars live here in the Villages. Her newest movie is coming out this Summer of 2017. A very formidable woman as far as I can tell. For instance, she is extremely well-educated. And she might be a contact if I can get this screenplay or book written. And she might be keeping tabs on me on Facebook and TOTV. And the climate in DC will be in my favor, I hope.

I would probably want this woman to be my main contact too with Hollywood mainly because of those Villages' connections. I never trust people all that much which is a major flaw but does come in handy at times.

I follow about 5000 people on Facebook and many of them are connected to Hollywood.

I do worry a little about John Travolta as he does live just up the road in Ocala. There are some celebrities I would really only want to talk to with an agent and my own lawyer present. Or just do everything in writing. Travolta could be on TOTV. You never know. John Travolta - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/john_travolta/) I do like many of his movies especially Pulp Fiction and one filmed where I used to live in Sonoma County, CA. Phenomenon (1996) - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/phenomenon) I did not run into Travolta at the Red Lion Inn of Rohnert Park movie trailers which were about 300 feet from the house we had on Fairway Drive. I would walk my pooch around the movie trailers hoping to strike up a conversation.

Thanks for the information about the drugs that will be very helpful.

They seem to be being provided by Golfing Eagles. I studied Philosophy of Science quite a bit at the University of Nevada, Reno so this is really interesting stuff too even if some of it is quite personal for me.

I will have to look into the work of Seth Farber. Thanks Allegiance.

The desk sergeant at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office was a woman who asked me if I had been in the care of a psychiatrist after I told her I had been the victim of a terrorist attack.

I had to reach into my binder and pull up a letter from my US Representative from Palm Harbor who had been helping me deal with a very nasty troll on Findlaw's message boards.

I waved this in front of her and she called out a Detective whom I talked with for a while and then handed him maybe 106 copies of various letters I had received in this effort of mine to get practical materials for survivors/victims into libraries of all kinds.

I remember the name of the Detective but will not post that.

This was on September 18, 2002. The Detective said that they had mixed feelings about very well informed survivor/victims of crimes. They would be a little harder to handle I assume. This was in a telephone call I made to the Detective.

I did continue to inform them on updates via e-mail but I over-did it as I often do and a second Detective told me that his colleague had homicide investigations he needed to work on. I was not sure what Criminal Intelligence meant.

I have the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office as one the many police departments I follow on Facebook.

I had sent packets of these 106 letters many places around that time via snail mail.

I did write a detailed account of that "terrorist attack". This was posted on Findlaw and was up for a while. It did prompt many personal attacks but also private messages from various people like Vanessa D., and the Scientologists or maybe that one was one of my many e-mails.
