I worked hard with Bill Ford to keep the Lincoln plant in Kentucky. I owed it to the great State of Kentucky for their confidence in me!

Hate to tell you but Ford never had plans to move their Kentucky Lincoln production to Mexico. So much for the Force of Trump.

Steve Jobs called me and confirmed all future Apple production will be made in USA, he mentioned Trump as the reason.

I don't know who they are, but I hope you're right. We need to not only keep and increase production here, but also get lost production back. Going to the Apple store and seeing the long lines of people buying an American company's products made overseas ****es me off.

Spokeswoman Christin Baker said Ford "confirmed with the President-elect that our small Lincoln utility vehicle made at the Louisville Assembly plant will stay in Kentucky".

Bottom line. Ford never planned to move production from Kentucky. Ford and Trump must have had an interesting conversation. Ford will be moving small car production from Michigan to Mexico. Makes sense. Small cars have lower profit margins and are impacted by the cost of labor. SUV's have higher profit margins so labor cost has less impact. The free enterprise system at work. Of course, this is the same philosophy that shipped American jobs to our best friends in Communist China. That's why the Buick Envision is made there. Remember the Domino Theory?

Seems to me that if you folks are going to come on here and tout the informational assets of this forum and at the same time you are going to demean the media, that you might do some reading yourself other than sites dedicated to simply tout one side. It would help a lot.
"President-elect Donald Trump claimed credit on Thursday for keeping a Ford plant in Kentucky from moving to Mexico. But the company never planned to move the entire plant, only one of its production lines.
Ford has never announced plans to move to Mexico either its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, which produces the Lincoln Navigator, or the Louisville Assembly Plant, which produces the Lincoln MKC and the Ford Escape.
In a statement on Thursday night, following Trump's tweet, the company said it had told Trump it would cancel a plan to shift production of a single model — the MKC — from Kentucky to Mexico. The company last year indicated it would be moving MKC production out of Louisville, though it did not announce where it was going. At the time, union leaders said the shift would not cost any jobs in Kentucky, because Escape production would replace lost MKC production."
Trump just took credit for stopping Ford from moving a plant to Mexico. But it wasn’t planning to. - The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/11/17/trump-just-took-credit-for-stopping-ford-from-moving-a-plant-to-mexico-but-it-was-planning-to/)
Despite Trump victory lap, Ford wasn't planning to move plant to Mexico - Nov. 17, 2016 (http://money.cnn.com/2016/11/17/news/companies/ford-mexico-donald-trump/)

It won't matter what Trump does to improve our economy, Obamanites will just live in denial and claim that Obama is the reason for the season. I bet Trump won't be blaming Bush for his failures, although he might blame Obama for Obama failures. Trump will be looking ahead though, and is already moving forward. Faster than most other presidents when they were elected, including Obama. Pence told congress to buckle their seat belts. Trump has already accomplished more in two weeks than Obama did in two years. Just being elected has already boosted the market. Not that I put much stock (pun) in market trends.

This is Trump's tweet....

Very misleading and self satisfying.
Why could he not simply either let it be in the news as it was, or simply state the facts.
You people talk about the media misleading you....geez, this guy is far and above them in that department

Absolutely correct. Another Trump lie.
Many times, as is the case here, he does not lie in the traditional sense of the word.
He does what he accuses the media of.....leaving part of the story out and making it about himself.
He is good at it, and as you can see represented by posters on here, they believe what he tweets, etc.
My interest here is to watch how his inactions, or other actions are twisted to be the fault of the media or Hillary Clinton.
Been doing some reading on his promises about the coal industry and his promise to bring it back.....seems even Fox has their doubts....
"With the election of Donald Trump as President, forecasters and analysts are dashing to determine how his policies are likely to affect global energy. It’s likely that his measures will benefit O oil and gas, though his consistent vagueness and apparent confusion over industry fundamentals makes that somewhat unlikely."
But where Trump has been somewhat vague on oil and gas, he’s been positively exuberant about coal. A key point in the Trump campaign’s energy and economic plan was the rejuvenation of the American coal industry. This position was a component of Trump’s broader attempt to appeal to white working class American voters. But can he deliver?"
Can Trump Really Revive The U.S. Coal Industry? | Fox Business (http://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/2016/11/14/can-trump-really-revive-u-s-coal-industry.html)
"Some industry analysts are skeptical that Trump can make good on his promises. Even coal advocates have some doubts over whether rhetoric can translate into gains for their industry. With so much about Trump uncertain, from his actual positions on issues to his preparedness to deliver on his campaign promises, many will simply have to wait and see."

I recall reading that so much of the i phone is done by robots that labor cost does not really matter.
NIXON-we do not hear much about him except for watergate and the fact that he resigned the presidency.
WE are living with some major changes that NIXON put into action. It, was Nixon that opened up trade with China and it was Nixon who took us off the gold standard.
We actually were already buying from China. Stuff would be made in china shipped to Taiwan and come in duty free marked made in taiwan. By ending the gold standard, Nixon allowed such practices as quantitative easing,

Trump has American companies lined up at the Mexican border just waiting to relocate back to the US. These CEO's can't wait to start paying $20 per hour for labor as opposed to $4.00 per day.

Surely you realize that the call to continue the operation to take out Bin Laden was totally Obamas call. Bush had the same opportunity but backed off and let him escape. And deficit cut in half, 24 million with health insurance, unemployment cut in half, stock market thru the roof ????? Do you live in the USA ??

And President Obama has a job approval rating in the high 50%. Every time Trump opens his mouth, Obama's numbers go up. By the time he leaves office he will be in Clinton territory, high 60%.

50% and he didn't even do anything in 8 years. And once Obamacare is gone, his legacy will be solely based on his being the first black president. Just a footnote in a liberal history book.

Yes, but has Obama or Carter ever achieved a 90%+ approval rating in their whole tenure as president? Bush did.
Approval ratings are like election polls, hardly accurate. Remember, Hillary was going to win by a landslide.

W Bush had a 90% approval rating after 3000 people lost their live on 9/11/2001. That's a pretty high price to pay for a good approval rating.
His rating dropped 70 points to 22% when he left office.

There's lots of reason for approval ratings. You made up one for Bush that fits your narrative. The fact remains that Obama did NOTHING for his approval rating, just like he did nothing for his Peace Prize. And regardless of what Obie did or did not do, he has NEVER achieved a 90% approval rating, not even close. But, I want you to hang onto your little crumb of hope to make you feel better.

Bush's popularity benefited from a tragedy that united this country like nothing since Pearl Harbor...and he then spent the next 7 years pizzing it away.
Then he slunk out of office with a 22% approval rating.

Who cares? Bush hit the 90% mark and Obama did not. Just proving a point. Like I said before, polls mean nothing. Polls said Hillary was a sure win. Polls said Trump would lose the primary and the general election. Polls can be wrong. As far as I am concerned, they are wrong about Obama. In my opinion, he replaced Carter as the country's worst president.
Obama's approval ratings did not help Hillary get elected, even though he campaigned for her. The approval ratings were wrong about Obama. Point proven on Nov 8th.
