Dear Administrator: In viewing the "Mew" Posts I noticed "Political" posts have escaped from under the rock they were consigned to and now can be read in the open on New Posts. Is this a change of policy? I can be political and if I am in the mood will go to the Political post section. I have found however having the political post show in the New Post section is "click bait" for me getting me off the track Please put the Political postes bask in the box. :cus:

I'm not a member of the Political Forum and I don't see political posts in New Posts (using Firefox).
I do see Classified and I don't want to!

Try hiding the ads and see what happens.

I am also plagued by political posts- just started to happen in addition to hundreds of classifieds. They are a pain and I find myself not wanting to go to TOTV as much. I wonder if the owner cares?

#2 - On desktop, using Firefox, I can see political posts when using 'Quick Links' and then "Today's Posts.'

But not when just using 'New Posts.'

I see the political threads listed when viewing "new posts" using my desk top and iPad.

I use Firefox on the laptop and google on the iPad.

The visibility of political topics in new posts is nothing more than scanning subject matter in the newspaper.
There is no obligation to go in and read and then come back and complain about the content observed where one voluntarily went in.

I do admit it was better when it was for lack of a better term, hidden. Hence it was 100% opt in. But even then there were still complaints of content by those who went through the trouble to opt in and then come back and complain on the main board.

I find it too easy to either ignore or not open those places that are of no interest!

It's true that political topics and classifieds are easily identified.
(Political posts appear when I use Quick Links/Todays Posts, but not when I use New Posts).
However I think it discourages readers when the amount of classifieds and political posts is overwhelming.
(I've used "hide classifieds" to no avail).

There has been more than one Thread on this issue (including by me) and Admin. has replied "they are working on it". Patience is a virtue!

Many people, myself included, have stated that political posts are showing up on their laptops and have given the operating system and the browser. For instance, on my windows 7 operating system using Firefox, I used to only see the political posts on "Today's Posts." And the classifieds used to disappear when I hit the Hide Classified button.

Now, political posts are showing up in "New Posts" and the "Hide Classified" button is no longer working. So you may be working on the problem, but I fear you're kinda slipping backwards.

I find that I haven't been coming on nearly as much due to the pain of wading through Craigslist classifieds, and even the titles of the political posts can be very annoying. So it's not as much fun anymore.

What CFrance says...in every respect.

I find it a PITA to have to deal with both the classified and the political posts.
Therefore I am on the site much less than I used to be. Miss it, but too much hassle!!

No more inconvenient than going through the phone book yellow pages to find something.

Time required? A finger snap!

Does anyone else find it a bit humorous, that some of those decrying seeing political posts...are also frequent visitors to that forum?

Hmmmmm......

I find it humorous that those that claim to find humor in things are actually humorless.

And those same people that claim to be menzamenz often fail to see obvious sarcasm etc.

Maybe they are menzamenz but are also rain women.

Good point. That's why I don't use the yellow pages.
