We are enclosing our lanai next month and ordered privacy screening. Will they make our lanai too dark inside?

Yes we know they are darker from the outside, but want to make sure we can (and our cat) can see out clearly.

We do not have a kissing lanai and do get afternoon sun, not directly.

Love to hear from those who actually have the privacy screens and would you do it again?

No,we had it installed on our lanai. Works out great shades the lanai , but allows sun to come in. Also it is more private to sit on.

Yes. My understanding is that it filters 70% of UV rays.

During the day people can't see in but you can see out.

At night, it is the opposite.

I think they look better! IMHO

We used "pet screen" for the lower section of the lanai and birdcage, the normal screening for the main wall sections, and 50% sun reduction for the roof sections.. Our cat loves it. As for privacy, we back up to a road, and I have actually tried to look into out lanai and birdcage, and outside of a possible glimpse, you cannot watch someone. I agree with the above comment about the privacy screening being the opposite in the evening. We do have manually rolled up/down shades if we are really concerned.
PS the 50% shade reduction make a BIG difference in the amount of sunlight in the birdcage.

I used Cook Aluminum, (Clarence Cook). 352.342.7809.

Others may know them as Thumpers.

They did an excellent job.

Call RK Products 352-430-4430. They have installed screening all throughout the villages. The owners live in The Villages and do a great job!
