Trump only had 'winning' on his mind and was willing to say anything while campaigning.
The fact that a lot of his supporters loved his bigotry/hate/misogyny...only encouraged him more.
The realization of what he has actually won, how much work it is, how many tough decisions have to be made for the entire country and that he can't be lazy about it...is slowly sinking in.
Him now leaning on Obama daily...is totally predictable.

How can a reputable forum such as ToTV, which publishes posting guidelines...using such terms as civility and respect...allow the political forum to continue on as it currently is.
https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/1324295-post5.htmlIf an opinion must be expressed anonymously, to me it's not worth hearing.

As a voter recognizing that all politicians make promises they won't or can't keep is factored into my selection of candidate. What is important to me is the overall view of the candidate's likely affect/effect on this nation both domestically and foreign as his term proceeds into the future.

I don't deny criticizing the political forum. It's ripe for criticism and I will do it again. But CNM'S claim that I vowed somehow to stay away is totally bogus. He's twisting words to meet his need...as usual.
What I've said is that I want the ability to come to the political forum when I choose to, and not have it forced on me every time I come to ToTV due to the technical issues.
I'll gladly take criticism for the things I say. But criticism based on somebody desperately twisting my words into something I didn't say falls on deaf ears.

It is far smarter to learn from others then to make all the mistakes as if there is NO HISTORY.
I for one do not always need to stick my finger into it WHEN THERE IS A SIGN WET PAINT.
Obamacare-the rest of the industrialized world has about the same life expectancy as we do in the US and their medical cost is roughly half of what we pay. Like most of what our government gets involved in THEY DO NOT FUND IT. Obamacare was funded under SOCIAL SECURITY with no increase of funding. SOCIAL SECURITY is already underfunded because OUR GOVERNMENT did not account for our aging population. To guarantee failure of the system they added prescription coverage without additional funding. This by the way was a bipartisan leadership. BUSH bought votes with unfunded prescription drug coverage. OBAMA bought votes with unfunded health coverage.
THINK-you are MINDLESSLY anti TRUMP. You state he is the choice of the hateful, bigots etc etc etc and yet YOU refuse to applaud TRUMP now showing he is a CENTRIST.
Trump has shown he is more LIBERAL on GAY MARRIAGE on ILLEGAL ALIENS and on RIGHT TO CHOOSE-ABORTION

Not to worry, the GOP finally (after 50 years of trying) has a clear path to ending Medicare as we know it. They have a president-elect who will sign their bill into law. This is something Rep Paul Ryan has been praying for.
And Trump promised to repeal the ACA, replacing it with a " better plan for less money...something he will do very quickly". Who wouldn't want a better plan for less money?

If, we do not allow the politicians to spin reality things become truly simple.
1. Everyone wants-no one wants to pay.
2. We are not and perhaps should not be willing to not provide care for people who CHOOSE not to accept responsibility for themselves. The conservatives, the republicans object to people being FORCED to purchase insurance. If we choose not to accept that people need to be forced to have insurance and we refuse to deny care of people who do not have insurance, then, people who have property, savings, any kind of wealth END UP PAYING FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE.
3. If, you were buying insurance, an annuity etc, you would, YOU SHOULD check to see the issuer is financially solvent. ALMOST ALL OF US HAVE BOUGHT A POLICY (ANNUITY) CALLED SOCIAL SECURITY. IN THAT SAME PLAN IS MEDICARE, MEDICAID, PRESCRIPTION COVERAGE AND OBAMACARE. FIRST OF ALL, IF YOU WERE EARNING GOOD MONEY YOU COULD BUY THIS SAME COVERAGE FOR FAR LESS THEN WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN FORCED TO PAY INTO THE SYSTEM. ON TOP OF THAT WE KNOW THE COMPANY, OUR GOVERNMENT HAS NOT RUN THIS PLAN RESPONSIBLY AND IT IS BANKRUPT.
4. Government will never solve problems until things get so bad that the solution will be very painful. The current solution ADDING TO THE NATIONAL DEBT TO PAY OPERATING EXPENSES-CAN-MUST EVENTUALLY FAIL-HISTORY TELLS US SO.
5. SOLUTION-I DON'T HAVE ONE.

A number of posts about FAKE NEWS.
Seems our newly elected President is a user.
Recall when the Times, Post, Journal etc were go to for news.
Now, it appears the most powerful man on earth is relying on the National Enquirer.
“Report: Three Million Votes in Presidential Election Cast by Illegal Aliens; Trump may have won popular vote.”
— Infowars,
website of leading conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, Nov. 14
“In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”
— Donald Trump, president-elect of the United States, Nov. 27
We learned last week that President-elect Trump has been turning away his intelligence briefers, leaving the tedious task of learning about national-security threats to his understudy, Vice President-elect Pence.
So where is Trump getting his information? Well, now we know. On Sunday, Trump tweeted out the wild allegations that “millions of people” voted illegally for his opponent. He also tweeted that there was “serious voter fraud” in three states that went for Hillary Clinton, “so why isn’t the media reporting on this?”
The media wasn’t reporting on this because it’s a load of hooey. But one “media” outlet has been “reporting” the groundless allegations, and it’s one that Trump relied on frequently during the campaign: Alex Jones’s Infowars, the radio and Internet home of the grassy-knoll crowd.
For two weeks before Trump made his allegations, Jones had been alleging this very thing, saying there was a “wall of fraud” and that at least “five states were stolen” by Clinton. Jones alleged that Trump “clearly won the popular vote,” asserting that in addition to 3 million illegal immigrants who voted, 4 million dead people voted.
Right! And aliens from outer space have landed in Florida — news Infowars is also currently breaking. “Was Florida Fireball a UFO?” Infowars asks, noting, “A fireball shot through the Earth’s atmosphere at 11pm on Nov. 23” and citing “social media” for the UFO bit.
The well-informed consumers of Infowars also know that at the moment the “Whereabouts of Julian Assange Remain a Mystery” since the election and WikiLeaks wants people “to stop requesting proof of life.”
Infowars listeners and readers know, as well, that requested recounts in three states are an attempt by the Green Party “to push the 2016 election into the hands of Congress.” Somewhat contradictorily, this effort also means there’s a “Democrat Counter-Coup Against Trump in Progress.” Jones warns that this is “a real threat and [George] Soros is behind it,” part of a “soft civil war.”
Jones’s rants would be funny if the soon-to-be most powerful man in the world didn’t rely so heavily on them."

It is amusing that these illegals always vote illegally in states that Trump lost. There is never any mention of voter fraud in TX, or AZ, two states with very high Hispanic populations.
To include NH in this list of states with illegals voting is laughable. Does anyone think that three million illegals showing up to vote in NH would not be noticed?
