Park Heights Animal Care's Dr. Valdez is the best!!

I took my little Nicky (13 years old) to him last week and I thought it was the last episode. Not at all. Dr. Valdez gave him a very thorough exam and Xray where he found a very bad disc problem in Nicky's spine. He gave him an injection to stop the pain immediately and gave me explicit instructions about how to administer the medications short and long term and has called me almost every day to find out the status of my dog. That is a great vet!!

Over the weekend, I had questions about the meds, and his office staff was very knowledgeable and gave me good instructions on what to do, in the doctor's absence. This morning, Dr. Valdez called me to follow up on what the office staff advised and he agreed with what we are doing.

I can't thank this vet and his staff enough, as Nicky is now walking around without pain and is acting like a young dog again.

I go to the Fruitland Park office but they also have another office in the villages.

Bravo Dr. Valdez!!! :eclipsee_gold_cup:

[B][/Just an FYI Dr. Valdez only comes to his other clinic, The Village Veterinarian twice a month on Thurs. but you need to check with them as his schedule sometimes changes :)B]

I'm glad to hear that Nicky is feeling better. I think it so important to get first-hand referrals for medical professionals, including vets. So Kathie, thanks for letting us know about your positive experience.

Thanks Bare, I know, I feel the same. I just love getting 1st hand referrals to medical professionals. BTW, I owe Chels a big thank you because I found Dr. Valdez through Steven (Vetman) and he certainly knew what he was talking about.

Dr. Valdez called me again last week and we reviewed the program for meds and he makes me feel so comfortable that I am treating Nicky appropriately. Luckily, we have a series of different meds that we can administer to help the little guy to keep him painfree.

Thanks for your interest and concern.

So glad Nicki is feeling better. Dr Valdez is our vet too. Haven't had anything serious (knock on wood!), but we really like him. We go to Fruitland Park office. It is so convenient from 466A.

Hi Denise and Jackie, Welcome to Heavenly Hadley!! :pepper2: :eclipsee_gold_cup:
What area are you moving to, NoHad or SoHad? that's North or South Hadley? We have a great group here from TOTV, let us know when you arrive. BTW, Dr. Valdez' office in Fruitland Park is very close to Hadley. Good luck and see you soon!!

Hi Kathie -
We love Dr. Valdez, also, because when we moved here 19 year ago our Silky Terrier (Missy) had come down with peritonitis and it was touch and go on what the outcome would be. She was 8 yrs old at the time. Dr. Valdez kept her in the "hospital" for some time and he never told us this himself, but his staff advised us that he took Missy home with him every night and kept her by his bed so he could keep an eye on her. Loved him for that, and all the other care.

When he opened The Villages Vet, he came here more often but it slowly became harder to get in to see him. Recently, we started seeing Dr. Rick Munsell for our ShihTzu, Taffy, and I must say that we like him too. We know that Dr. Valdez would work with only the best, and the gals in that office are also very capable.

While here I might mention that Linda at The Village Vet
is an excellent groomer and we have taken Taffy to her for all of her 8 years. She loves Linda which is very comforting to us. (Incidentally, Linda is the owner of Bison Fr. show dog who is a beauty and a winner. She has it handled and groomed by a trainer, so is not actively involved if I understand correctly.)

I go now, after all of this ramble. I'm happy that your "puppy" is feeling so much better. I (we) feel really down ourselves when Taffy is not up to par.

Chocolata, (I just love your name) ----
I'm so happy to hear your story about Dr. Valdez and his staff and I'm not surprised that he took Missy home, that's how compassionate he is. You can just tell the way he handles the dogs when he's examining them that he's gentle and kind and very knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing your story.

Kathie, how is Nicky doing?

Thanks, Bare. Nicky is doing very well, for an old dog. I really don't have to give him the pills very often, I kinda stay ahead of the pain and that seems to be working. Thanks for asking.

Kathie, I truly hope you have all of your fur babies with you for a long time to come. When I walk in the front door and my three pets rush to greet me, I really feel there is nothing more comforting than the love and loyalty our four-legged babies give us.

Bare, so true, I just love my babies. Almost, too much, if that's possible. Sometimes more than "people"??

Guess who I met today, Teddy!!!! What a doll he is. F16 and Mrs. F are here now so I had to run over this morning to meet Teddy and say hi to Mrs. F. Can't wait until he meets the bad schnauzers, what a time they will all have. I'm sure F16 will post some new pictures of Teddy in his new home. Heavenly Hadley will never be the same again.....

I'm looking forward to introducing Twisted Sister (formerly Lolli Pup) to Teddy. I think they are about the same size. Teddy is so adorable, he takes after F16.

Twisted is often mistaken for a Goldendoodle .. but she actually looks more like a sheep dog. She can hardly wait until she meets Teddy.
