Has anyone used a contractor to install gutters on their house? If so any recommendations.
..Thanks..

Yes, we used D&E Aluminum Construction. Very good and reasonable in price. Their number is 352-347-9374.

I used Hill's and mentioned that I saw their ad in The Daily Sun and received a discount. They did a wonderful job and the price was right. Their number is 352-245-7462.

I vote for Hill's. Have used them 3 times and recommended them to others, never heard a complaint.

I am just asking.

We have not had the extra gutters installed. For newbies, the houses come with front guttering and you can go out the front door and garage with out being splashed.

We didn't install them because others told us they really weren't needed in TV because of the sandy soil that wicks the water quickly. Puddles disappear within minutes. It rarely gets squishy.

I suppose the acid test on that would be these past few days.

Anyone heard the same thing?

Sounds like another Village Myth.

Our Camelia only has gutters around the front entry.
The sandy soil doesn't help the the downpours down the sides of the house and where the rain runs off the roof, especially bothersome outside the bedroom window.

We're having gutters installed next Wednesday.

I have never been without gutters and can't imagine living without them, especially in Florida where the rain can be constant and sometimes heavy. The soil is sandy but there is a fair amount of clay which does not drain or absorb. We opted not to have the builder install the gutter at the front entry because we didn't want the extra seams and downspouts when we would get gutters around the rest of the house. Finally, we are in the throes of getting them and that will make me very happy. No more mess around the perimeter of the house!
