A beautiful gentle but frightened young white/black short-haired cat has been abandoned recently and left to fend for her/himself at Lake Okahumpka State Park. I have been feeding this poor baby to gain trust and need to capture her before something happens to her. Ive called animal control and they don't seem very interested in the plight of this poor animal. Suggestions please?

Check with the local shelters, vets, perhaps you can borrow (rent?) a humane trap, which would allow you to take the kitty to be checked out. You might get some ideas from the TV show 'my cat from hell', using treats to get the kitty to trust you.
Hope you can capture the kitty.

Thank you for the info in your response! "Cat from hell"...yikes! Thanks for the warning.

Emmy, I have a humane trap that you could borrow. I think a more important question you can ask yourself though is where are you going to bring here once you have her? Unfortunately it is hard to find a home for a frightened stray

Good luck and let me know if I can help.

There are many feral cats in the area. Are you sure it is a domestic cat?

Do NOT call animal control! If they trap it, they will keep it for 3 days, then if not claimed it will be put to sleep. Call a no kill shelter! Since you have worked to gain some trust, perhaps you can borrow a cage/trap to catch and save this poor baby.
