You know what they say--If you remember the 60s then you weren't there:laugh:

I was there and have the framed tickets to prove it. Also I think the Villages paper is doing an article on it in the future.

The last I heard, 8,000,000 people have claimed to be at Woodstock. A 40 year reunion would be interesting. Let's do it.:pepper2:

In TV I bet that might pick up some national coverage.
Sounds groovy.
We might have to head down I-75.
Uh, speaking of coverage, you will be keeping your clothes on. Right?

"Woodstock" wasn't in Woodstock, NY (it was supposed to be, thus the name), but in Bethel, NY. The closest I got to it was being stuck in the traffic coming home from the Jersey shore. Time marches on. Here's what's happened to the muddy field.

I'd be there for sure. A few months ago there was a day long concert at the Polo fields where there were impersonators of famous performers. It was well attended. It ended with a great Beatles tribute band. I joked to my wife that we were at a "Woodstock for seniors". Funny, the air didn't smell like it did in the 60's.

Best Santana live performance of Soul Sacrifice ever. Next would be his live performance in 1968 at The Fillmore.
How about the guy with the perfect fro? How many of those will we see?

I also saw Santana at the Filmore East, and Buddy Miles, Elton John and a few others I can't quite remember.
I'm in for a reunion, might have some lovebeads somewhere, but I'll not be wearin' hot pants:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

The drummer was outstanding! And the blond with glasses wasn't too bad either once she got into the groove.
Thanks for linking that - great.

How did this thread go from Woodstock in Bethel to Charlotte Russes in Brooklyn? I mean people, can we stay on the topic a little bit. I hope the Villages does do a little something around the Woodstock 40th. We seem to celebrate every other kind of occasion here. Thre are some of us that despite our age still have some of that "Peace and Love" mentality. I'm sure we'd like to mingle with others of the same mind. Even for a little bit.

LOL I wore a fro hair style like that in the sixties. Too funny to see again. It was a perm. OMG! I thought I'd never wear that perm out. It will be extrmely hard to repeat the talent of the sixties. Not sure I'd like to see Senior nudist either. :jester:

The drummer is Michael Shrieve and he just turned 20 years old. He was the youngest performer at Woodstock. He is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for his work with Santana.
