All of a sudden I can see all of the political posts. This has never happened before. Is there a way to hide them? Thanks

I don't see political posts when I click on "New Posts".
However, if I click on "Today's Posts" under Quick Links, they do show up. I will alert admin in case he is not already aware of this.

Thanks I appreciate it. :-) Yes that is what I was doing was clicking quick links for today's posts. When I click new posts hardly anything shows up.

The keen thing about computers is that it is easy to simply click to have something disappear. what also works is to skip over posts you have little interest in. I like to skip over "the for sale' stuff"

If there was one click to have them disappear that would be great, as it is when I look at the list of posts its seems like every other one is from Guest and is a political post with some type of aggravating subject line. Not a one click operation that I know of.

When I log on and click "New Posts" the for-sale items and the political posts both show up. When I click "Hide Classifieds" they both go away.

Admin is quite aware of the issue. We are told they are "working on the issue". Unfortunately, no results yet.

Political posts are still showing up. Sometimes not at first, but show up after a screen change. I use an iPad and sometimes a Surface Pro III and it's the same problem on both.
The classifieds will not go away either. Well, actually, what happens is that when I hit "Hide Classifieds" they go away, but only for one screen change then they come back.
The classifieds often spew all over everything, making TOTV look like it's just one big classified section.
On a better note though, I like that change where I have to wait only 5 seconds instead of 30 seconds.

If this were not so aggravating, it would be funny. I logged out and back in this morning and now the screen looks like it is allllll classifieds, interspersed with political. I had to scroll and scroll to find this thread. (Oh my! Should I take it personally.)
And, btw, of course I have sense enough to ignore and keep on scrolling, but the seepage gets old.
I am one of maybe 5 people in the world not on Facebook. I know I am a dinosaur still posting on a forum and then repeating complaints about something that seems like it can't be fixed. The overriding posts need to be corralled somehow where they do not fill the first two pages and sometimes more. There are fewer and fewer threads on TV topics and topics of general interest now.
But I realize I am not the one running this railroad. (sigh)

If you use Today's Posts when you log on, the political threads will show up. They are working on that. I find the Hide Classified button works for me and I don't have to hit it more than once when I log in. But I do have to hit it every time I log in as it doesn't hold for future visits. I just noticed that if you hit the Show Classifieds button for some reason, the ads come back accompanied by the political threads.

"Hide"click only removes the intended target once. A renewed/refreshed screen brings them back. I just scan the multiple pages for the threads that interest me. I have noticed if the classified ads and political talk threads are hidden the menu reduces to one page

Is it so difficult to NOT OPEN the thread?

Yes. My other problem is that the forum says I last logged in on December 8 and displays pages and pages of posts from that date. I hope they can fix this.

......................
I was going to complain again because now it looks like the number of regular posts is dwindling by the day and the number of classifieds is INSANE! Selling the silverware drawer a fork at a time......geez.......
That's what happens when the space is free I guess.
I don't care if people sell stuff. I just wish the classifieds could be organized separately.
But I am not going to complain again that no matter what I do, no matter what computer I use, I cannot fix it beyond one click.
