Trump now discounts CIA credibility, cabinet appointments, and most concerning, comment that Trump doesn't need our vote anymore. Can you put aside political leaning long enough to realize America has made a mistake.

Most people got it right. The minority voted for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton. It should not have been hard to tell that this man would break his promises.

They ALL break their promises...every D or R we've elected has broken their promises. They always have...they always will...when will you get that and stop voting for either? Hillary would have broken promises too.

Not believing the 17 intelligence agencies of this great country, but eating up the ignorance of a son-in-law and a guy who became wealthy spreading lies through an online biased news source, then entering a bromance with Putin...would have once been thought too inconceivable to even contemplate.
The danger and ignorance of Chump as the leader of the free world...are simply frightening. :ohdear:
There will be no joy in one day soon saying...'we told you so.'

President-elect Trump said he doesn't need presidential intelligence briefings every day because he is "a smart person" and doesn't "have to be told the same thing in the same words" every day.
Even scarier than the arrogance and ignorance of Trump, is that his foaming ardent supporters...don't even care. :ohdear:

i agree wholeheartedly....he is only breaking his promises in left wing news sources. so far all his cabinet picks are exceedingly good to a conservative voter, and delighted that he does not want a 4 billion dollar plane to fly him around! :BigApplause:

Why are the security briefings viewed as such a big deal for Trump and almost never mentioned when Obama would skip going to them.
Like everything else that is nothing more than ritualistic in Washington, the daily security briefings in a mostly normal world are nothing but MOS (more of the same).
Like it or not, like him or not, the security briefings being a daily ritual and not much value adding during the course of normal daily lives....a take action, aggressive, no nonsense, executive style will pick and choose where to spend their time. Are they need? In some form, no doubt. Daily? Most of the time no. Or a memo or a text or however they top brass in Washington communicate the usual day to day stuff.
It might be an interesting exercise to find out how many people and how many hours and how much money spent to prepare, package and present the daily security briefing.
I would bet it is a stagering number......hence, self perpetuating, establishment, business as usual.
Real executives do not put up with for very long non value adding activities/persons.

Perhaps it will happen when Trump voters lose their Medicare, and social security and the VA become privatized.
The GOP has been trying to destroy these safety nets for 80 years (in the case of soc sec), and finally they have their stooge in the White House who will sign anything put in front of him.

General Hayden was on Morning Joe this morning and would beg to differ with you. As the former head of the CIA, he probably knows more about what these PDB's contain than posters on this forum. Read any daily newspaper and see how world events change from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour.

"The president-elect has attended only a handful of intelligence briefings in the past month, and says it's no big deal — but Donald Trump and future White House Chief Strategist Steven Bannon's far-right-wing media arm once criticized President Obama for the same.
Trump opined on Twitter (stated as "Fact") in September 2014 that Obama "does not read his intelligence briefings..." and mocked the president as "Too busy I guess!"

Not only was Trump's claim without merit, it was based on a dubious report from the conservative Government Accountability Institute — which was co-founded by Bannon.

Trump also jumped on OBAMA for this in 2012
"Priorities--while fundraising and campaigning on our dime, Obama has skipped over 50% of his intel briefings"
These are actual tweets direct from Trump.
Of course...and these are his own words on tape....
"WASHINGTON – Donald Trump says he’s smarter than your average president — so he doesn’t need daily intelligence briefings.
“I get it when I need it,” Trump told “Fox News Sunday,” explaining that he refuses the opportunity to be briefed daily by security professionals on classified threats the way President Obama is.
“I’m, like, a smart person. I don’t have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day for the next eight years – could be eight years. … I don’t need that.”

Well something has to give.....
"In other words, after his tax cuts, Medicaid cuts, and unspecified domestic discretionary program cuts, there’s still no room in the budget for Trump’s promised new spending on infrastructure, the military and veterans---unless, that is, he tackles entitlements or takes the nation even deeper into debt. (This is a long time theme for Steuerle, who has argued in such books as Dead Men Ruling that automatic spending on programs already written into law, combined with the aging of the baby boomers, has limited current politicians’ ability to invest in children, education, infrastructure and other programs essential to help the economy grow.)
So where does President-elect Trump stand on cuts to entitlements, other than the Medicaid cap he embraced during the campaign---the one that’s already built into Steuerle’s grim numbers? During the campaign, Trump promised to protect Social Security without cutting benefits, raising taxes, or raising the retirement age, suggesting a long term funding shortfall---starting in 2035, the tax dollars coming in will be enough to pay only 77% of benefits---could be solved simply by goosing the economy and cutting waste, fraud and abuse. Similarly, when it comes to Medicare, Trump has promised to protect benefits, but has offered no real ideas for curbing the growth of costs, other than allowing the program to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies, which Republicans have traditionally opposed.

All due respect to General Hayden. He knows what it is and why it is from his day in servce. Also he is, like it or not an insider of sorts.
My point is the current format is outdated. Yes I am sure very technologically and media driven. There are much more efficient ways to disseminate critical, time sensitive information, that would be more accurate in presentation....and not LIMITED TO THE CURRENT, daily ritual.

Anyone ever associated with civil service knows that no manager ever wants to cut a function.
More functions equals more staff, money, power.
Over a million civilian employees supporting 1 million troops, trillions of dollars in virtually unaccounted for contract spending. You can't make this stuff up.
The politicans, the lobbyists and other swamp scum want business as usual.
It does not take a brain surgeon to see that, just ask Ben Carson. He says Trump gets the point.
It's time for common sense.

These are the same ignorant voters who put Trump in the White House, and now barely a month later are bawling their eyes out because their healthcare is going bye-bye.
It's not like Trump didn't tell them, sometimes three times a day, that his highest priority was to repeal their healthcare.

All presidents are given choices of how to receive the PDB. President Obama receives his on his I-Pad. If Trump wants to get his via dance interpretation, it will be done.

Is your point that Trump does not want to be briefed because the US is using an outdated manner in which to brief him ?
Are you suggesting that the current method, whatever that is...only YOU and Trump I suppose know for sure......is not efficient ?

If Trump wants a personal briefing, it will be done. This way he can ask questions and advise his briefers what subjects he would like to cover in the future.
All presidents have to make split second decisions, sometimes life and death decisions. At that point, it is too late to review the data. This is why having as much updated information on a regular basis is imperative to keeping the country safe.
