I'm sure I'll have a million of them over the next few weeks--

Our 20 yr old grandson is coming with us to TV for a while (attending LSCC) He will be a FL resident.

I know he can't use the "Village" pools (only family pools), but is he permitted to work out at the fitness centers in TV?

I will be watching for answers to your question. Where I live now, a grandson (or grandaughter) can only visit for 4 weeks and then has to leave. We have had alot of heated discussions on this very topic. I would like to know TV's policy as it might influence our decision about buying a home there.

As long as they are over 19, there is no problem. You just can't have anyone under the age of 19 for more than 30 days a year. The best bet would be to check it out with one of the regional centers, such as Laurel Manor or the Administrative Offices.

My son (23 yrs old) lives in my house. He is a full-fledged Villages resident. There are some criteria for becoming one - he needs proof of residency in a number of forms. I don't recall them all, but the official change of address letter from the PO, a FL driver's license and a voter registration were some of the choices.

Anyway, armed with the right ID, you can go to the VCDD Customer Service Center on Wedgewood La (near Southern Trace) and get a resident ID. I believe my son has all the rights and priveliges of a Villages resident once he got that card (the places where he needs to be over-30 excluded of course).

Our 19yo daughter lives with us too... she attended LSCC last term. She wasn't that thrilled with living here initially - - - really, what college-age student would? But, gradually, as she began to know the neighbors, made friends at school, and got a local job, she actually likes it here (still won't admit it to us, but does brag about it to her back-home friends)

She works out in the gym at the Wellness Center, and suntans at the family pools. If your son/daughter needs a buddy, feel free to PM me - maybe our kids could get together - - - you can never have enough friends!

Krash, I will do that. I have heard there is a group of them (adult children) in TV. She would be a big help in his adjustment.

Thanks
