View Full Version : Brake lights and turn signals stopped working on 2017 Yahama Drive 2

So on my 2017 Yamaha Drive 2 EFI cart, the front turn signals were wired opposite. So turning left, the right turn signal would come on and vice versa. So I swapped the front turn signal wires, but something happened during the process. Now no turn signals work, front or back, nor do the brake lights. However, the front turn signals stay full on solid. No blinking, just both solid. Switching the wires back makes no difference. Head lights and tail lights do work.

Any ideas?

Yes, take it back to where you bought it and have them fix it properly!

They have warranties. Take it back. But now that you worked on it yourself....might have voided the warranty. Good luck though.

If you shorted a wire, it took out the turn signal module

Villages Guy, I am guessing you are a DYI person, so am I, my background is a retired professional electrical engineer with a lot of automotive experience. If you get the run around from the dealer (since you worked on the golf cart), I may be able to help.
First try reversing what you did initially. If you still have non working turn signals (not reversed), then as previously stated, you probably damaged the turn signal module and you will need to get a new one. With any luck it will come with a wiring diagram, and I could be of assistance if you need help.

Hope this helps.

Turn signal module is plug and play.

Just make sure you undid what you did to short it out.
Lesson learned, part is about 100 bucks- Yamaha will have it

I think leaving the battery connected and key on is what may have done it.

Disconnected wire to the battery.....LOL!
