Isn't that the same as an "ATOMIC" electric? That's what I was thinking of. Is there a similar "body" for a "regular" gas cart?

Any dealers near TV? I looked on their site and it only listed a Chrysler dealer who doesn't show it.

Then it is a "street ready" vehicle? I thought they "dumb it down" so it is strictly a "golf cart" with the correct top speed like the ATOMIC. If the ATOMIC had the GEM body I'd jump on it (in the buying sense that is). :D

I looked at a GEM a few years ago. They looked really cool and I thought I wanted one until I looked into it.

At that time, they had a switch that would limit the speed to 20mph or allow it to go 25mph.

It is not a golf cart, it is a low speed vehicle which mean that it must be registered and insured like an automobile.

Along with that additional expense, what I found off putting is that although it runs on a 75 volt system, it has a somewhat limited range of a about 25 miles.

It does give you the advantage of being able to avoid the MM paths and the tunnels, and you can go around the round-abouts. But I didn't feel that, for me, that justified the higher initial cost, and the additional cost of registration and insurance. That alongs with the fact that I can go fifty miles in my old electric Club Car made the decision easy.

They are very comfortable and ride much more like a car, but I like having a golf cart.

I really prefer gas but when I saw the "ATOMIC" with air cond and heat I really liked that idea. That one IS considered a golf car(t). What I REALLY like is the windshield wiper. When we were down there in SEPT we had use of a GC and got caught in a heavy rain. Didn't like having to pull over and sit in a sealed sweatbox until it stopped.

Didn't know the GEM was only considered as a LSV/Street ready. I don't like (or want) that for the licensing and insurance costs as you mention but I like the "look" of it. The only advantage I would see for me is to be able to get over to Home Depot where I spend half my life recently.

My ideal TV vehicle would be a new Yamaha GAS w/a custom body like the GEM. Guess when we get down there in a few weeks I'll have to see.

LOL, I have no doubt about that. This is what I am looking for:

except that one is a 2010. I thought maybe it was a "stock" Yamaha model but I assume not. The person selling it doesn't seem to know.

There are a lot of carts with enclosures here running around. The two most popular are the Curtis, I don't have one but from what I've heard, they're about $2200 or about $3,000 installed. Curtis you'll see mostly cream colored or black.

The second most common, but way less than Curtis, is the Sleekline. It's similar but more of a soft sided where Curtis is more hard, Sleekline are mostly black. I don't have a price, but I believe they're about the same as Curtis in price.

Thanks John ... interesting. I assume they are 3rd party custom enclosures? I believe I had seen the top one a few times when I was down there in Sept. and the bottom one is "neat." :) I wonder if they are available with windshield wipers which is my main objective so my wife (or me :) ) doesn't get stranded forever in a rain storm.

That Atomic Electric sure looks cool (literally & figuratively because it has A/C) but I really would like the new Yama-mama-ha. :D
