Cable for part-timers?

We will in our new house off and on (more off than on) for the next few years. Any suggestions as to best cable company, etc where we won't an arm and a leg off for decent TV and internet service?

I had the same issues, only I had three homes and the cable costs were killing me. I bought Direct TV and had it installed in my home up north. Then I bought a portable dish for the villages (short money). Direct TV sent someone out to align the dish and I bring my receiver with me when I am in the Villages for an extended period. The receiver is small and easy to transport in your luggage and it works great. The best part is that you only have one bill for television reception and you get the service you want. I did the same thing for my telephone and my internet access!!

You can use Comcast for Cable and put it to sleep when you leave. Easy Peasy. Comcast has many customers who are snowbirds.

Do you know approximate cost for putting cable to sleep?

It's about $8.50 per month (for us that includes phone, internet and cable) or a flat fee of about $60.00

We don't have a telephone with Comcast. We have a Vonage phone.

I don't have my records handy, but if I remember correctly they charged $19.99 (Admin fee) last year to put Comcast TV/Internet to sleep for six months. This year they waived the Admin fee.
