We have friends visiting for a week in January. Where do we rent golf carts from? A formal rental should provide insurance?

It may be tough to get one now but I have always used Grandma & Grandpas. Always reliable and trustworthy.

If you search on golf cart rentals or google Rent Me you will find the number for Don Cunningham. Sunbrellas and seat belts. Our cart insurance covers when I rent when friends and family visit. Not sure those that rent cover insurance to cover the renter, probably just insurance to cover their business. There is alway the Villages Golf Cart in a pinch.

I have used grandma and grandpa buggies many times and never had a complaint. They drop off and pick up righr at your house.

Just fyi...... we've rented from both Grandma and Grandpa as well as the Villages Cart Store, and neither rental included insurance. That was explicitly listed in the rental agreements.

Last May when we rented from Grandma & Grandpa they offered insurance. We had rented from them before but this was the first time they offered this option. As I recall I think it was an extra ten dollars for the week.

Make sure it's liability insurance coverage, not just coverage for the cart itself if it gets wrecked.
If people get smashed/thrown-out at 30mph into vehicular street traffic, because the electric cart is not speed-controlled at the legal speed of 20mph......
Morgan & Morgan For The People are waiting.

I rented for a week from the villages golf car in LSL. I recall they did not offer optional insurance. However, theft of the cart coverage was included in the rental. That was in the spring, policies might have changed.
The only option I was offered was with or without curtains.

Thanks for that info. It's been a couple of years since we rented from them, so things have changed a bit. Hopefully, it includes liability insurance for the renter.
