Last week's wind and rain wrecked havoc on two of the tarps over shelters at Oxford's Doggie Doo Run Run (DDRR) in the small dog (30 pds or under) section.
They were torn into various pieces and according to DDRR people cannot be mended.
Unfortunately, it gets too sunny to really go to the small dog section to sit in these roofless shelters past 9:30 a.m. in the summer There is still one shelter with a tarp at Doggie Doo Run Run but it is at the smallest shelter in that 30 lb or under section which also abuts the doggie pool.
If anyone notices that the DDRR has replaced these two tarps could you post it?
I kind of have to plan my day around what time I can take my small dog to the Doggie Doo Run Run. There are also very limited places in the shade in the small dog section at DDRR.

Tal,
Have they put in for some TARP money from the government to cover the cost?
Ohhh, Tal, I hope you are laughing. I just could not resist.
And I really do hope the dogs have it made in the shade again soon.

I see your pun, Boomer, and I raise you a foul fowl as my neighbor claimed we would not find his chicken dish.
Think a lot of people though do yell foul about that other TARP.

Oh Tal,
I have been sitting here trying to come up with another one, but doggone it, I am stuck.
So I decided that I must be barking up the wrong tree and maybe I should just forget about the puns and try to dig up an acronym for that TARP money thing. Like maybe "The Advocacy for Retired Pooches." But that one is not good, not good for a howl anyway.

Hi Tal,
My hubster was there when the tarp blew off - a "Wizard of Oz" sort of experience.
Who are your doggies? I am wondering if we have met without know it as we go on the small dog side too. Our pooch is Finley - a cute little Maltipoo.

I have a chihuahua/terrier mix named Sport.

...but it is way too short for the shelter and looks kind of like a trampoline rather than a shelter tarp as there is about 16 inches to 24 inches between the metal frame and the fabric.
This is at the agility/small dog area shelter. The one that straddles the two areas.

This was really needed in today's (June 6, 2009) morning rain.

Is Doggie Doo Run Run for residents only? We have been trying to find a dog park for Jasmine and Bella and can only find the Lady Lake Dog Park. Their hours don't work with our schedule and thought we were out of luck.

People from around Oxford and elsewhere like Del Webb's Spruce Creek use Doggie Doo Run Run as well as villagers from many different villages.
Doggie Doo Run Run is about 1.1 miles north of the intersection of CR466 and CR101. It's on the right while traveling north on CR101 just before the intersection of CR104 and CR101.

DDRR is privately owned and open to the public. It costs $25 per month for the first dog in a family and $5 for the second dog. It is a bargain IMHO.

I agree! What are their hours?
