We had visited the villages a few times and while doing an internet search it led us to TOTV. Glad we found it, learned a lot and made many friends.

We found the forum after hearing about it during a visit to TV. It was a kinder, gentler, more informative site back then. It seems to have gone very political and dominated by 12 to 15 people who have something to say on every subject posted. Never the less, I still sign on daily to see what new restaurants, rants, and rentals might be popping up.:eclipsee_gold_cup:

I was trying to find some information on whether or not any of the bad, imported dywall had been used in TV. Googled my question, and some posts of the subject came up. Been looking in regularly since then.

Searching for info on TV I would click on any link I could find and somewhere along the line I ran across TOTV. Not sure where it was but I am glad I found it.

As I recall, my wife and I had visited TV for a few hours in January 2008. The place looked interesting and I started researching information on TV. At that time TOTV was not very high in Google's rankings but I kept going down the Google list of links looking for more info until I found TOTV.

that there might be a chat room or forum that I could ask questions about life in the villages. So I use bing (new name for windows live search) as I was testing the beta version anyway. Typed in "the villages fla chat" and up you came. So I joined the party.

Searching the internet while researching TV prior to visiting. The info that I got from here was very valuable when I came to look for (and ultimately buy) a home last year.

My sister lives in Naples and loves Florida. Her friend lives in The Villages and researched all over the world and found The Villages to be the best! He absolutely loves it. I sent away for the dvd and met wonderful people here on TOTV and I was hooked!! :pepper2:

About 13 years ago our friends were living in Delaware and told us about TV. We visited that year and fell in love. I am so happy , as helene 2008 says, we have made so many great friends. :pepper2:

Google search. A friend told me about TV. I went to their sight and liked what I saw. I wanted move information and less slanted than the TV corporate take on things. I figured with so many people living in TV someone must have started an independent forum. I just sat out to find it.

It was recommended to me in an email from Lyle Gant. I love it. I've learned some very good info from it and met some nice people.

From a friend/Villager. And sometimes I would just like to kick his/her butt.
I get very little accomplished anymore because I am always checking out TOTV. It is very habit forming!;)

Jan (Talk Host) was at a Villages Computer Club meeting offering a free trip in a raffle to people who registered on TOTV. This was around July 27, 2007. Unfortunately, I did not win the trip. But have found a lot of friendly people on TOTV.

I moved to The Villages in July '07 and around that time I read somewhere, cannot recall where, about TOTV. I logged on and have been hooked ever since. While I do not have a zillion posts I check TOTV daily. This site has been a wealth of information. I have learned about doctors, dentists, restaurants, vets, contractors, home upgrades, local places of interest, etc.

TOTV was written up on Thevillages.com. Came in through there. Not sure if it is still listed there. They had a big write up on this site..

Discovered TOTV in Google search while hunting for "anything and everything" I could find on The Villages after visiting relatives for the first time in 2007. As a wannabe, I have TOTV as a "favorite" on my browser and visit the site a few times a day. I have found that often times I know more about what's going on in TV than relatives who actually live there but aren't "connected" to TOTV. This site is my connection to the livelihood of my future life! I plan to be in TV for 4th of July, too bad I won't be around for Crispers luncheon, but hope to meet some of you then!

Same as gardenia, search after visit.
This Forum actually helped me and the wife make our choice to retire in TV. Bought several months later in CYV Bonita.
