I have purchased a home in Polo Ridge. I am moving cross country and I will be beating the moving van by a week (or more). I'll have no car either until that arrives. Yikes!! I will be sleeping on the floor, even if it is all hardwood , because it looks more comfortable than the washer and dryer. What I'd really like is to borrow a cot and maybe a chair. I'd also like to rent a golf cart so at least I could get to McDonald's. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Rent a room at the Waterfront Inn. At least for the first couple nights. From there you can walk to LSL, rent a golf cart at The Villages golf cart store, go to Walmart in the golf cart and get an air mattress and a sleeping bag, cleaning supplies, other essentials, and then do the camping thing at your home. The rates are reasonable and for a couple hundred $$ you will enjoy your first days a lot more. Good luck and welcome to TV.

Hi Photoglady, welcome to TV!!!

I feel your pain, I moved cross country also with 3 bad schnauzers, but luckily for a very good friend here on TOTV, I had all that waiting for me. I have an extra air mattress that you can borrow, and an extra coffee pot also. I'll pm you my email and phone # and maybe I can help...

Now there are two good helpful posts!!

I was going to suggest buying an air mattress as you will probably be needing one in the future for guests when everyone finds out how much fun it is in The Villages!

We bought a queen air matteress and an air pump at Walmart for our wait for the moving van. We now use it for guests. A couple of resin chairs and a small table was the other items we bought to make life more comfortable.

I can't tell you how much these replies mean to me. I will stay a couple nights at Waterfront Inn, hopefully borrow an air mattress from KathieI, call The Villages Golf Cart Man and drive to Wal-Mart to pick up necessities for my "camp out". You people are wonderful, and I truly thank you all. (KathieI, I don't know how the personal messaging on this site works.)
