I have started researching moving companies. One thing I hadn't considered that was in their information was the extra charge if your belongings have to be transferred to a shuttle or smaller truck because the moving van doesn't have access due to narrow streets, low wires, etc. Would that be necessary in any part of TV?

I don't know of any Village that would require a shuttle nor should there be any long carry's.

have you considered using PODS? that way you are under your own time frame. also, get rid of a lot of stuff. seriously. you don't need to bring everything that you have in your old house. really.

If you live at the end of a cul-de-sac...the turning radius is tight and many of the very large moving tractor trailers cannot make the circle without causing some major damage. A viligent driver will back the tractor trailer up teh street and get as close as possible to the end house of the cul-de-sac.
BTW the same holds true for furniture delivery especially if you ordered from North Carolina or other locations away from Florida.

We are at the end of a cul de sac and it was tight but we didn't need to shuttle. I would also think there could be tight areas around villas - a van could block ingress/egress which I think would be unsafe. I would ask your neighbors their experiences.
I love the idea of PODS - but the price we were quoted was way higher than using movers.
