Did anyone have the following problem & where you able to correct it?
Our microwave is 4 yrs old. A small symbol appeared in the time section of the panel. It was a rectangle w/3 verticle squiggly lines. It prevents the microwave from operating. On pg 6 of the manual under "Installing & Replacing Filters. It says to clean the bottom filter and replace the charcoal filter every 6 months. Then to go to Settings & reset filter status. We have done all of that and when
using the touch pad and trying to heat up anything the symbol reappears and locks up the microwave. Any help is appreciated.
Called customer service @ Whirlpool and they didn't even no what the symbol meant! Other than it was an error code and they wanted to schedule a service call.

1) Google the problem 2)if that doesn't work use the whirlpool "live chat" option...not a phone call 3)if that doesn't work then buy a new microwave...they are quite inexpensive

Had the same problem spent $40 to have it diagnosed
circuit board was gone..His recommendation buing a new one
would be cheaper
Went to Lowe's appliance asked which one was the best.Their reply buy the cheapest one to fit your needs There all junk.I did mater of fact bought another whirlpool they even installed it.
In the Villages it's all about quantity not quality.
From home building to executive golf courses to restaurants.
In long run you still can't beat what we have
In 5 years the fridge failed, microwave failed and garbage disposal

Did you try unplugging it and waiting 1 minute then plugging it back in? Sometimes this works.

Or you can turn off the circuit breaker, a lot simpler then climbing up to get to the plug. I agree with the 1 minute or so.
I am guessing we have a different model, as the are on contacts or switches I can see that would let the microwave know the filters were changed. I have cleaned ours 2 or 3 times since we moved in, and the last time the message to clean the filters would not reset. I just started ignoring it, and it eventually disappeared.

I completely agree with previous comments, these are cheaper to replace then repair, and you get a new warranty.
