Are there any Tesla owners in The Villages? Is there a Tesla owners club?

? for a Tesla owner if a storm comes & you're ordered to evacuate--you don't have enough range to get out of Dodge-,unless you have another vehicle-hope you have another vehicle & in the event of a prolonged power outage--what are going to do- stuff happens

In the event of a prolonged power outage you aren't getting any gas either. It takes electricity to pump gas.

Having experienced the gas lines of past--I have an older Mercedes diesel car that gives me 40 mpg & I have a 550 gal tank on a buds property, just in case-plus we have lots of food + water + protection

No. But if you find enough owners you can start a club.

The last thing in the world I worry about is fuel for my car in the event of an episode that creates extended power outages, such as a hurricane. I can easily make it to Atlanta, and numerous other places where we have friends, on a single tank of gas. I am leaving Dodge and will return when power is restored. Hoarding fuel for transportation would have no value to me. If I was truly concerned, which I am not, I would get a whole house generator.

I have never bought into the whole prepping paranoia. I have lived in coastal regions most of my life and have never seen a power outage of more than 12 hours. I have plenty of places to go if something bad happens and more than enough insurance and money to deal with the aftermath. Whatever floats your boat but I don't see the need to question other people's choices to buy a Tesla, which has more than enough range to get out of Dodge.

Back in Maine, we were without power for over a week from an ice storm. No electricity = no water from well. Had to drive to Massachusetts to get gas for the generator until a guy at a local (20 miles away) filling station fired up a generator...you should have seen the line of cars. It reminded me of the gas lines in the 70's.

Op was just asking if there was a tesla club, I did not find one. OP TOTV is just a fraction of who lives here. Hopefully some will read this and PM you with others that can answer your question of any Tesla owners in the area.

I'm sorry that all replies were off topic.
I lived in TV for over 3 years and have seen no Tesla's.
I saw one just outside of TV but I don't think there are many people in TV who own a Tesla.
Good luck in trying to find other owners.
BTW - Congrats on owning a great car!

I've seen a couple, look great--lots of room with the hatch back--the only short coming is range & lack of quick charge stations--where you can change out the battery in one minute

Hah??? There are lots of supercharging stations. The battery swap thing is dead.

We have seen a number of Teslas here in TV. I don't have an exact number and it isn't likely to be large. Great car - if that is what you have. You might want to put a club request line in the Recreation News. That was how a number of people got together to start a Porsche club.

I have seen several Model S's in The Villages. Great car, btw. Do not believe they have a club yet. Why not start one, or better still, start a plug in EV club instead. ( Then I could join as I have a 2017 Chevy Volt. No Volt club here either.)

How about Katrina? We were without power for 2 weeks and that was less than others. Being prepared, we had a generator. The crazy thing was that if I had not had a generator, FEMA would have paid for one. Since I thought ahead, I did not get that benefit.

After Andrew, we were without power for 3 weeks.

There are occasional instances of prolonged outages. The odds, however, are extremely remote. As I already stated, I am leaving town till power resumes.

Hope you find a club or get enough interest to start one. I would dearly love to own one but tis not in my budget. Enjoy your baby. I'll happily drool if I see you go by.

Yeah right. Many of the homes had such severe damage that they were not habitable.

You can install Photovolatic cells to charge the car. Saw a demo of this at 2010CES. Thinking of this for my Golf Car. Once Musk gets his flat batteries on the market.

The OP started this thread to determine if there are Tesla owners in TV and gauge the interest in a club. The thread has veered significantly from that topic. Please return to the original topic. Further off topic posts will be deleted.

OP, try contacting the Daily Sun, they might be able to insert an ad in the Thursday weekly insert with all of the clubs.
