Looking for a good seafood restaurant, outside The Villages. Doesn't have to be fancy, just good food. Interested in suggestions.

One thing that surprised me when we moved to Florida more than 26 years ago is that it is not easy to find good seafood even when you are surrounded by water on 3 sides. That, and that turn signals are optional!!

BUBBA'S Catfish House serves up the Best fish I've had in a very long time. They have some unique appetizers as well ...... fried green tomatoes, blackened catfish dip, and fried pork skins that are addictive. They are down in Clermont on Rt 27, just past the Route 50 interchange, on the right side. If u go past Wawa, you've gone too far.

There is a very good page called The Villages Gourmet that has a search engine and descriptions and ratings on restaurants in, near, and away from The Villages. The link is The Villages Gourmet Club Restaurant Reviews Page 1 (http://thevillagesgourmetclub.com/page1.html)

St John's will not disappoint. Family style place. Waitress's are quick and funny too! You won't be disappointed unless your looking for a place with valet parking and a wine list. :mmmm: It's in the same strip mall where As Seen On TV Is. That has proven to be a problem.

Agree with Sam St. John's. Also like Cedar River Seafood on Rt 441 in Leesburg. It's on the same side on road, and just before all the new car dealers. Good food and service, with good prices and senior portions available. Not fancy by any stretch, but clean.
