Looking for someone who can install a pet door from our birdcage to the back yard. Thanks....

Your pet must be on a leash in your backyard - unless you live in a CYV.

Also, just as a pet can go out the pet door from the birdcage, unwanted critters (possums, raccoons, rats) can come in the birdcage.

And, remember, we have many wild animals here, some of which would happily make a meal out of your cat or dog. Please don't add a pet door to the great outdoors. The only one you'd be helping is yourself, even in a courtyard villa.

Thank you for saying this! :BigApplause:

Amen, pet door to outdoors is not a good idea, too many snakes, coyotes, etc.

OP, please reconsider.

We lived in an CYV for six years and had a doggie door from lanai to yard. Never had a problem and never had a doggie surprise in the house. In our yard were lots of snakes over the years and frogs/toads. Not once did any unwanted creature use the pet door.

Lowes/Home Depot have DYI kits and we did it ourselves. I am guessing any handyman could install the screen part.

Just my two cents.

Thanks. We are in a CYV and have never had an unwanted visitor.

Only takes one. Coyotes can easily jump CYV walls. Raccoons can easily scale almost anything. Foxes are great leaders. While a hawk probably couldn't fly away with a small pet, it could certainly do some serious harm with its talons. Sorry, I really don't think it is safe to allow unguarded pets outside unless large enough to defend themselves.
