Well, I lost a filling and went to a dentist today and got some sticker shock. She said I needed a crown and the price would be $1,400.00. That sounds to me like a lot of money for one crown. Can anyone recommend a better deal somewhere?

I recently had a crown installed by Dr. Lunsford in Leesburg for $895. He did an excellent job.

I am currently having an issue with grande traverse dental. They do not explain that they only use one type of crown and then when they bill the insurance company as an in network provider they do not accept what the insurance pays. I paid my portion but they want me to pay the contractual allowance. They told the insurance company that I chose to go with the better crown. I have filed a grievance with the insurance company, the Better Business Bureau, the Office of Attorney General, and Seniors vs crime. The office manager who is all of 21 cannot explain why and won't let us talk to the doctor about it. She won't abide by the contract and states the balance will be sent to collection in 30 days. The charges for the crown were $1077

I had Village dental do one last year for$600.00. They are on 441 down by Lowe's on the East side. Ask for Dr. McDonald. Nice old guy. 753-6365
