Villages ready ?

We have a home in Bonita and at this time we are very part timers. A salesman at the Villages golf cart store suggested we by an older gas cart to get us through to the time when we become real snow-birds and gave us Jim Followell's card. I check the classifieds in the Daily Sun quite frequently and find the words"Villages ready" in the listings. Exactly what does this mean. Are there some carts that are not Villages ready ?

I don't think there is any exact list of items, but I am sure it includes windshield, head lights/tail lights, turn signals, enclosure, golf bag holder, and probably the floor mat in the front.
If you look at a golf cart website, they come without any of that stuff.
There might be others things as well, but that covers most of it.

like Steve says, basically stuff so you can travel off the golf courses too,

and at night... I don't have the list, but it's basically that stuff above

And the cooler! Don't forget the cooler! And you'll want a big shopping bag for the back where the golf clubs go. It holds much more than the sweater basket.

Some types of golf cart tires are NOT allowed on golf courses. Check with any reputable golf cart delaer for the details on what is and is not allowed. Make sure (if you golf) that you don't have the wrong tires on your cart. Otherwise, it sounds like a good idea to go with a used cart until you move here full time.

Jim Followell only buys carts that are villages ready both for his rentals and the ones he sells.

Jim purchases the carts that are traded in at The Villages golf cart stores as well as others cart stores in the area. This is the reason the people at the golf cart stores reccomend him so he can turn over his inventory and buy more trades from them.

I have purchased two carts from Jim and have known him for many years from back in Indianapolis.

The person at the Villages cart store did tell me that Jim F. took in their trades and fixed them up to rent or sell. So they are acting in their best interest but at least they were up-front about it and didn't try to sell us a new cart. We have read many good things about Jim Followell so maybe we'll give him a try. THANKS

Lights, brake lights, turn signals, stc. It refers to night driving. Try the Alumacart when you get here. I just bought a new one and very happy with the purchasa.

If you go with electric cart, I recommend the LC3, sold on the pre-historic side, this is the only cart that comes with a locking TRUNK, will hold two :beer3:sets of clubs (small bags) good thing to have when you go to the squares after golf, and when you shop

In addition to those things previously mentioned, I think it also refers to being able to go up to 19 mph, since Villages golf carts are used for transportation and not just on golf courses. Don't get one that exceeds 19 mph though, as that is the legal max speed limit for golf carts.

The lc3 is not a golf cart. It is an electric vehicle that will have to be registered and tagged ......same as a car.
I had a 4 passenger and it drove like an old truck.
