This literally makes me sick. I can't believe this is happening to our country. I heard they even brought Patrick Kennedy out of rehab, to vote. Hopefully, we can stop it in the Senate, but I'm not holding my breath.

I realize how some will take this, but I so wish some President Obama supporters would post and if they agree with what is happening tell everyone WHY !!!!!

Maybe they are out celebrating the victory. I know I will take some heat for saying this but I think it is another nail in America's coffin.:ohdear:

what Bush-BASHERS....are obvious by their absence from participating in this forum, when they were front and center every time the was even an inference to the Bush administration. The same ones who promoted Obama no matter what the subject....related or not....and yes Bucco toatlly absent since THEIR MAN won the election. Now why is that? Perhaps they do not support what their man has not done that was promised? Or they disagree with what he has done so far? Is purporting to do next? Are against socialism?
And do not know how to address your very specific request.

In my opinion if Bush did what has been to date this forum would have been bloodied by them.

I wouold also like to hear their views on the current administration which includes a Congress that would pass another course of history changing legislation...AGAIN.....WITHOUT HAVING READ IT!!!!!!!!!!

Can partisan following be so strong tis better to not speak when they are being surprised by what they got/didn't get?

We're waiting!!!!!!!!!!!

Another unread bill rammed thru... where is the outrage? A feature of post traumatic stress disorder is "numbing of emotions"... has the electorate been so traumatized by what has happened in Washington since January that they are "numb"? You know... deer in the headlights. I feel sick.

I always thought that the democratic party was for the working man. This congress and administration is killing the workers. The cap is another example of putting more pressure on we the tax payers. Those who don't work, under this bill will receive breaks. This country is on a down hill slide. The hero is selling this country out.

your comment that only those who do not work will realize benefit from this latest disgusting ram it through laws.

With no raising of literal hell, expression of outrage.... by we the people (which is counted upon and expected by the lawmakers)...they will again...CONTINUE.... on there merry way with no remorse or consequence.

How sad for us all.

The paper tiger is indeed now showing no spine as well.

Bill,

Not at all, I'm retired on a fixed income. I'm sure we will not be included.

Eight Republicans voted for this bill, including Sonny Bono's widow. Poor Sonny is probably rolling over in his grave.

I wasn't here during the election but I went back and read a few threads. Where are those people????

I will speak to that !!!

Some of them still come here and read, but dont post. Those, in my opinion, were those who were just anti Bush for any reason...knew NOTHING about any issues and just gave one sentence "shots" at Bush. Lots of one liners about anything shallow and personal (This group had a ball with Palin). Not sure where they are but probably out socializing and have that atttitude..we won, so why talk. They feel that the political forum is just negative when they dont agree !

Then there were those who really believed in Obama, mostly again in my opinion because of his oratory skills, they really believed he was not political and was one of those once in a lifetime guys. I would suppose they dont post because they still hold out hope OR they are simply disappointed.

There was also a group of lifetime Democrats who would support ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING as long as it was from the PARTY. They pop up here anytime something bad happens to a Republican and I call them the "Party folks from People magazine". For them it is all about the party and the country can go to h#@@ in a handbasket as long as the Democrats are in power when it happens.

There were some, and I will compliment VK as one of them, who really studied the issues....felt that Obama was the better candidate and some, like VK still post because he cares about the country FIRST..not power. He also has something of substance to offer on issues that occur.

That is my take as someone who was speaking on here of the radical agenda of President Obama when he was not even the candidate yet and was called racist and that may have been one of the nicest things said.

I, however, would welcome any of these groups to return and point out ONE thing I got wrong...well,the one thing I got wrong was how long it would take...I thought it would take longer than this !

Thank-you Bucco..you did a great job of explaining. The hate Bush syndrome was well and alive last year but like you said there are those who will pull the "d" handle no matter the substance.
Wait till the country goes down the tubes. I can remember nobody admitted they voted for Carter back in the 70's. I wonder how many of the same ilk have ripped off their Obama bumper stickers?

Well I am not surprised that Obama supporters (and we all know who they are) aren't chiming in. I'll really be surprised if they do!

[492][1227]

492 days until the 2010 federal election - 1227 days until the 2012 federal election. Who says there's nothing to look forward to? ? ?

Here's hoping that in 2010 there will be people elected as representatives who have learned how to read....

Maybe, that's the problem. Some of the congressfolk have been in office so long, they have forgotten HOW to read. Perhaps we need a new government education program titled "No Congressperson Left Behind..."

I know... I just checked the DOW... looks like the movers and shakers didn't panic at the Houses vote. What do others think?

I think emotions were high after the vote but the Dow calmed down over the weekend when it was speculated that the senate was leaning against it. There is still a ways to go. Alot of deniers are coming out of the closet.
Hmmmm Shades of Janeanne Garofalo again?

Now the Right Wing Fear Mongers will have to go back to the drawing board and come up with another tactic.

I am not sure if in my life, or on here I have ever referred to a group of folks like this, and am not sure what the motivation is ???????

I am not a right wing anything......there was NO tactic. It, to my estimation was said in jest and responded to in such a manner.

Now, tell us why you support the bill passed by the house ?

I will assume you will be silent unless you can come up with a new phrase to call people !
