Has anyone had a kitchen pantry built? We had the company that originally installed our kitchen cabinets to come out and he has said that the color on our cabinets has been discontinued. We chose the next best color and he called today and said that it had been discontinued as of December. I need a good company that can build a pantry and hopefully match the cabinets that we have. We are not in a designer home and therefore we do not have a pantry. Thanks!!!!

Rather than try to match cabinetry, you might consider building a closet pantry with a swing door. I guess it depends on where the pantry will be built in the kitchen in relation to the cabinetry how this will work.

We had the company that installed our kitchen cabinets build us a pantry in our laundry room across the outside wall. added plenty of storage space for us.

Call the Villages Warranty Dept and ask them who did your cabinets. Bailey industries in Leesburg does a lot of the cabinets.

If he's still in business, we used Joe of Precision Cabinets to build a wall pantry unit in our Begonia dinette area in 2013. They matched our kitchen cabinets perfectly. You can see a picture of it in a prior thread: https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/contractors-services-91/kitchen-island-202378/?highlight=precision+cabinets

We have Homecrest cabinets installed by Summers Service Cabinets in Leesburg. We have a pantry cabinet and wanted to get a second one installed (side-by-side) in the kitchen. We have maple cabinets stained in Ginger with a Cocoa glaze. Summers advised us at the time that Homecrest had slightly changed the color between the time ours were built to the time we wanted to get an additional cabinet. Since they knew of the coloring difference, they would be able to get close but not a perfect match.

It took about six weeks from ordering to installation. (We even had an electrician come in and move an outlet that was in the way.) The doors didn't look anything like the doors on our other cabinets. Besides the color being off, the grain looked completely different. So, in order to save time, we gave Summers one of our other cabinet doors and waited another six to seven weeks for new doors to arrive.

The new doors arrived and at least had the same grain as the original, but the color is still slightly off, and not just on the pantry of course, but also on the one replacement door, (for the original sample), because they never return the original doors because they get "lost".

I took the off colored doors because I had been without doors in my kitchen for three months and was desperate to have doors on all my kitchen cabinets again. Most people don't notice the color difference, but I see it.

If I had to do this all again, I would ask them to give me a price to replace all the doors and drawer fronts. Or at least all the ones that are side by side and you can see in a line. The cabinets boxes seem to be the pricier items and the doors seem to be almost an afterthought. There is labor involved though. This may still be less expensive than having a carpenter build a new pantry.

Docs Restoration built our pantry. Love it!! I only wish we had done it sooner. It holds a tremendous amount of food, but also has a shelf for large serving platters that didn't fit in my regular cabinets. They were quick to get the job done, which was one thing that was important to me.
