See Dr. Golkar or Dr. Tammy Luk. They are both good general surgeons. I would try Golkar first. Inguinal hernia repair is a piece of cake. I have had both sides repaired with no problems. Mine were done as an "open" procedure, but they can also be repaired using laparoscopy. Usually, the hernia does not need to be repaired immediately. Some people live with them for years. However, rarely, the hernia can become strangulated and will not recede when lying down (very painful). If so, go to the emergency room.

There are several urgent care locations in the villages. they will see you immediately. Then if needed they have a list of doctors, labs, X-ray etc and hospital to send you if needed.

I agree that urgent care may be a good source for a referral. But, if you know you have an inguinal hernia, you need to see a general surgeon. Personally, I would skip the internist and the emergency doctor, unless you need a referral for insurance coverage. That is, assuming you can get an appointment with a surgeon.

Dr. Samuel Bundz is the absolute best. He operates out of Leesburg Hospital and has great credentials (Vanderbilt Grad) and reviews on Healthgrades > Find a Doctor > Doctor Reviews > Hospital Ratings (http://www.healthgrades.com)
