The Republicans talked and talked about repealling Obamacare. They had 7 years to come up with a replacement plan. However, where is that plan now? It was all just talk.

If Obamacare is repealed without a new plan to kick in at the same time, you are going to be losing the pre-existing conditions prohibition, the annual free health assessment, and go back to the donut hole of Part D.

The Trumpanzee has been in office less than a month and his administration is now in a scandal with Russia. VP Pence is a clueless trained monkey. Get Speaker Ryan ready to take over!

It is obvious they have a lot of the x-X-X kool aide left from the Clinton campaign and some have found where they keep it.

It's going to be a bummer in one way though...when Chump slinks out.

The daily (almost hourly) chuckles of watching the most clueless POTUS in our entire history and his accompanying clown act going away...will actually be missed. :1rotfl:

Repeal in haste repent in leisure.

If anyone believed that what Trump meant when he said repeal and replace was going to be done in a matter of minutes then s/he simply doesn't understand the complications involved in reversing the damage done by ACA.

Pelosi said "we have to pass it to know what's in it" Obama lied, and we know he lied when he said "you can keep.....
and here we have progressive actually laughing and passing judgment.

Progressives have done everything they can to resist and defame Trump but their strategy is failing.

Progressives belong to the party of hate ironic since they claim their love for inclusiveness.

They'll be shouted off more stages, and that's by their people, poor Jason now he knows what it feels to be grabbed by the p-ssy and not even be kissed, instead of all this in fighting why don't they just fix what's wrong.

One policy they should be REALY proud of is letting coal mines dump sludge into nearby streams and rivers, who does that benefit? ANSWER: CEOs who already make big the bucks, no regulations for CLEAN WATER. NO FISH will DIE, I'd want to SWIM in that water, or EAT the FISH coming out of the streams and rivers!

Perhaps you are confused....the Republicans have, for 8 years, being saying they would REPEAL AND REPLACE the Affordable Care Act. After the election they said they would do that day 1 of 2017! Well that didn't happen....why because, after 8 years, the Republicans can't agree on a replacement plan. But now they realize they can't repeal the law without a replacement because so many America's have health insurance because of this law.

Just the facts no spin and certainly no Kool Aide!

Sandy, you are pretty funny....really.

I AM a convert. I was a Democrat when I turned 18 and then converted shortly after. My Dad was a REAL Democrat from the old DemocratIC party. Before it went socialist. My dad would turn over in his grave to see what it is today. I was a Democrat in my first election, but ended up voting for more Republicans than Democrats so I converted. Now, I ONLY vote for Republicans or Independents. Once you start working for a living, it's a pretty easy choice.

To the Trump supporters whom really believed Obamacare was going to be replaced with something better and cheaper, those two descriptors don't go together. It is going to be Medicare for all or it is going to be rationing according to income. Americans are addicted to government spending and our congress hasn't had the courage to stop it. I personally believe the protests and rioting are just starting and will escalate with any spending reduction by Feds.

Do you listen to anything or are you just like Pelosi....if they are for it, then we will be against it? The head of the committee working on this the other day (yes, I watched what he was saying) said that they are fervently working on the new plan and are NOT pulling the rug out from anyone currently on insurance. They are also no longer going to penalize those who can no longer afford to pay the outrageous premiums and deductibles, either. The new plan is to cover those with pre-existing conditions, insure kids living at home to a certain age as is set forth now, make plans transportable across state lines, and other details they are still looking at.

Sounds pretty positive to me. At least there are no plans to 'kick anyone to the curb' and even some of those already on the curb because of this un-Affordable mess will have their suffering lessened.

At least I provided statistics...fact based statistics. Obviously you didn't look at the following posts where we discussed there should be a limited!

So why do I think we should continue the welfare program?

Because there but my family would have been my sister. She married a Air Force cadet they had 4 children, when she was pregnant with the 4th child he had an affair. In when my sister was in labor he went to she the mistress. Sweetheart of a guy. I could go on...

When she filed for a separation he immediately retired from the Air Force trying to limit keep her from getting amy of his retirement. She made the 20 year rule by 1 day! She paid her half the the mortgage...he didn't they foreclosed. The family stepped in and helped.

This type of thing happens to women all the time. She had four kids and I forgot he didn't want her to work so no job experience. She worked 3 jobs until her kids were through school and the family provided college money!

What about people who are hurt and don't have disability insurance. They might need help for a while.

But that being said my eyes were opened by 2 things this summer the first was a customer telling me about one of her friends that hadn't worked for more than 15 years. She had a section 8 house with cable tv and the smart phone.

Then I read a book "Hillbilly Elegy" written by a right leaning author who grew up in the RUST BELT and what is happening there now. He talks about people NOT wanting to work because they can get enough from welfare without working. If that is the case welfare has to be reformed!!!

I did leave a post about what happened to my sister and her 4 children. She never when on welfare but she had a close knit family. So women with children whose husbands leave them with little support require time to be trained. As do people laid off due to automation or job loss.
But even those things need to have a limit so day 3-5 years

Best case is a 1-2 who lose a job but have a skill and can find another job.

Amazing what people will believe when they want to believe.

Facts are strange things....they are facts.

Trump has lied so much, so loudly that even he begins, in his alternate universe to believe it.

E"Trump said, "Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy."

There is no evidence to support this. Clinton supporters circulated the rumor in the last days of the 2008 Democratic primary and after Clinton had conceded to Obama. But the record does not show Clinton or her campaign ever promoting the birther theory, let alone starting it.

"After years of denying the legitimacy of Barack Obama’s presidency, it was only in the midst of his own presidential campaign that Donald Trump began falsely claiming Hillary Clinton was the true progenitor of the “birther” conspiracy theory claiming Obama was not born in the United States.

But that’s swapping one discredited claim for another. Numerous fact checks, reports and interviews — in 2008 and 2011, when Trump revived the controversy — revealed that although some Clinton supporters circulated rumors about Obama’s citizenship, the campaign and Clinton herself never trafficked in it.

No, Clinton didn't start the birther thing. This guy did. - POLITICO (http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/birther-movement-founder-trump-clinton-228304)

"The conspiracy theory was already fully formed at this point. Clearly, the Clinton supporters accused of spreading it via forwarded e-mails knew “good ammo” when they saw it, but, as the above posts show, they deserve neither credit nor blame for the invention of birtherism. "

We rate Trump’s claim False."

Why is that you guys throw the liberal word at everyone. i am a PROUD DEMOCRAT! but I am more in the mold of my late uncle the longest serving Senator in the history of Virginia. He worked across the aisle, noted for that, and stood up to the Democrats on the Abortion issue.

I came to Politics in 1960 when my father took me to a Democratic Committee meeting, I was 10 and the first Irish Catholic was running for President. So you could think of me as a Kennedy Democrat.

I think YOU have it backwards.

Places are nice BEFORE they show up. Places are SAFE before they show up. Places are CLEAN before they show up. We WERE #1 before they got quotas.

The common denominator for a sh!tty place is...they show up. The common denominator for a nice place is...it's full of white people, NO minorities.

Prove it Sandy...prove they are our equal...in WHAT are they equal? What do they improve? They ARE another species and to be "just", we've decided to undertake an insane program of "mainstreaming" them into white culture/society. It hasn't worked.

Where is the black equivalent to the villages? Harvard or Yale? Western Civilization? WHY are they ALWAYS found on the LOWEST rung of ANY country? Why does EVERY black neighborhood look the same? Like Somalia or Haiti? Why do ALL our standards HAVE to be lowered to the ground and they STILL need quotas?

They are another species, lacking the Neanderthal hybridization EVERY other race got. WHY do you think they look SO MUCH DIFFERENT? Why do you think their anatomy AND physiology are DIFFERENT than ours? Because THEY are NOT us. They're the "missing link" between man and chimps.

So a woman that is not from a tight knit family, and shares your sisters inability to judge men, should cost me taxes for 3-5 years?

And a person that loses their printing job (that industry is dying...) and is holding out for another printing job, should cost me taxes for 1-2 years? How about the guy who lost his job because he was looking at porn on company time, and is having a hard time finding another job as a girls volleyball coach...should he get a 1-2 year vacation watching porn at his home and I have to pay taxes for him??

What is alarming is those who attack one poster because he does not follow or agree with their political philosophy.

Folks on here supporting the coordinated attack on this person, such as Rubicon and a number of others simply validate their support for this kind of talk. Note who they NEVER criticize and who violates not only rules of TOTV but rules of common decency..

Mr Baldwin....I find your constant racist posts disgusting.

Well why don't you show us all how wrong I am...think you're up to it?

All I do is ask the question...WHERE are all these great things that blacks do? Where are they ACTUALLY our equal? ONE THING...besides sports/music...just ONE thing where a black is the worlds greatest. ONE PLACE that is a majority black where you'd actually want yourself or your granddaughters to live.

My disgust is with YOU who can't seem to see the forest for the trees. Their INEQUALITY stares you in the face...MLK Blvd for one...and yet you REFUSE to acknowledge it. Instead of seeing the BIG picture, you keep focusing on small isolated incidents where A black got lucky and did good for someone OTHER than blacks.

WHY am I wrong for thinking like I do? Show me WHY you think they are our equal. PROVE to me they're fully human. That is my argument, we're different species being forced together by a political government who benefits from the social turmoil it creates and their constant need for poverty relief. A LOT of people make a LOT of money off the welfare system. JPM runs the SNAP card program. Big Ag makes a killing selling the food that 50 million people on foodstamps get per month. $5 billion a month goes to the likes of Kraft, Tyson, ADM, Cargill indirectly through welfare payments. The government gives the "poor" free money to buy those corporations products. The corporations in turn give money to get politicians elected who then enact bigger and better welfare programs...that benefits the corporations...and the cycle continues.

And yet in the same breath...insult me for saying what deep down you agree with. You WOULDN'T go live there, youe wouldn't send her there. Because you KNOW I'm right, you just can't IMAGINE that they ARE a different species to be treated as a different species.

We let our dogs run the household...don't take it too far by allowing minorities to run the country.

I haven't attacked her...in fact, I say I agree when I do...it's not often, but it does happen...she IS sometimes correct...but often with the wrong interpretation.

YOU PEOPLE on the other hand...attack ME like I'm Cinderella or a red headed step child. It's open season on me. What did you say to me?

Face it lady...you're NOT a man...you're not going to be no matter how many things you screw up when you force yourself in. Hate men for being better than you all you want...it'll only make you miserable. IF you WERE equal, you wouldn't NEED your own category, you wouldn't NEED quotas. People would bid for you...fight for you. As it is...there always seems to be a "woman's division" and it's NOT to help the men...

Live in your world of delusion...where you convince yourself you're an equal. Just don't drag me into it.

Got any facts? Or just more name calling?

CNM is getting picked on...because CNM picks on others.

I defend myself...I'm not aggressive...unless you attack first. Then I tear the mama bear to pieces...because I'm papa bear.

If you want to discuss with facts, I'd love to...if you just want to b!tch and moan about how "unfair" it is...I am...then move it to the "women only" forum where all this drama belongs. There's NEVER drama until women get involved. Men duke it out, determine order, and move on...women rejoice in the continuous drama. It's just one of our differences, how we're made.

I did clearly answer the questions on how long someone should be allowed to collect welfare.

My sister has only been married once, she married a graduate of the Air Force Academy who she had dated for at least 2 years. He was supposed to be an officer and a gentleman however actually he had narcissistic personality disorder. Being the good Catholic she stayed married to him for 20 years until she could not take it anymore. She never went on welfare or food stamps as the family took care of her and the kids. That included the immediate as well as the extended family when it came to college money.

Both my parents were working class and I grew up with stories about the hardships they faced during the Great Depression. What a life saver FDR and his programs were to the working class. They and my faith taught me to care for the people less fortunate than myself. My father used to say be glad when you are paying taxes because it means to made MONEY.

Obviously you were not raised with these same values. I have stated in other posts I don't believe welfare should be a vocation and I think many people, including entire families abuse the disability program.

Even Jesus said "Give to Caesar that is Caesar and to God what is God"s" So paying taxes is in the Bible. We don't get to decide on what they pay for only that we have to pay them. At least we have no state taxes here.

So your sister married a wingnut that liked to speak in acronyms, and loved the attention of others. It took her 20 years to discovered that she could not change a leopards spots...20 years most likely is due to codependency, she will most likely be attracted to another narcissist. If you post a picture of her, you might find someone on here that would be glad to help fill her void... ;-)

All our parents worked hard and grew up with struggle...what about our children? Can they work hard enough to pay for all the help we have given to the less fortunate than you?? I hope your dad is still around, ask him if he wished they had taken less out of his paycheck so he could have helped his own family more.

Obviously you were not raised with these same values. I have stated in other posts I don't believe welfare should be a vocation and I think many people, including entire families abuse the disability program.

You have no idea what my values are, you might wish to rephrase to "I assume" in lieu of "Obviously".
Yes - you did elude to some of that, but then you threw out a blanket of 3-5 years for the woman that is a poor judge of men and a 1-2 years for the person that was looking for a job.

Even Jesus said "Give to Caesar that is Caesar and to God what is God"s" So paying taxes is in the Bible. We don't get to decide on what they pay for only that we have to pay them. At least we have no state taxes here.

I am Agnostic, so paying MORE taxes so others don't have to support themselves is not a indicator of me being a better person. Feeling sorry for someone to the point that you hold them back in life, is not helping, it is more of that codependency stuff.

You have no idea what my values are, you might wish to rephrase to "I assume" in lieu of "Obviously".
Yes - you did elude to some of that, but then you threw out a blanket of 3-5 years for the woman that is a poor judge of men and a 1-2 years for the person that was looking for a job.

I am Agnostic, so paying MORE taxes so others don't have to support themselves is not a indicator of me being a better person. Feeling sorry for someone to the point that you hold them back in life, is not helping, it is more of that codependency stuff.

I have made every effort to have a civil discussion surrounding this issue. Why do you feel the need to change my screen name to COPUFF. Do think that is funny? Did it make you feel better?

I am agnostic myself or as a call it a recovering catholic. I don't see the world as you do.

No...you don't...you see it as a WOMAN sees it...emotionally. Often delusionaly. Rarely logically.

It's genetics...I didn't make you that way...I'm just the messenger.

The topic of this thread was "what changes will be made to Obamacare".

Why don't the Republicans come up with an acceptable replacement plan? They have had 7 years to do it and ... zilch.

IF Obamacare is repealed without an immediate replacement that will go in at the same instant that Obamacare is repealed, the good features will be PERMANENTLY lost. This includes the pre-existing conditions! The Part D donut hole will come back!

Republicans may talk but we need to see action. Talk with Webster when he has his meeting!! Tell him to get off his butt and represent us in The Villages.

Go to only medicare, VA, government gets out of all other insurance programs. Insurance companies sell health insurance for cost plus a reasonable profit. Like a utility. The more you use it...the higher your premiums.

It's the only way. Otherwise the country will just keep getting deeper and deeper into debt. Every $1 million in medical expenses for one person. is 80 years of paying $1,000 a month.

Insurance will get real expensive and there will be death panels...there will have to be...for the old and the young. No more spending $ millions on a 90 y/o to get a few months. No more spending $ millions "saving" a VERY early term preemie who will have medical condition their whole life. It's not economically viable.

The REAL problem is...growth has stalled. We had "unlimited" growth, unlimited cheap labor, unlimited resources...growing productive populations. It led to boom times.

That is gone. Labor is hitting a world minimum wage as everyplace has already been "outsourced" to. Resources are getting scarcer. Arable land scarcer. The populations of poor is rising almost exponentially. While the populations of the white western countries plummets.

There are bigger problems than Obamacare going away...much bigger problems...only they don't talk about those problems.

No, you have not "made every effort to have a civil discussion". You have been dismissive at best, proclaiming moral stance, and seldom addressing questions posed to you.

I did find the "CO Puff" humorous, lighten up a little and maybe you could see the humor of how people assume because you like CO = you smoke weed...

Laughter makes us all feel better...you don't agree??

You might be confused on your religious state, I would consider you a "closet Catholic". I don't see how you could be agnostic if you are concerned about making god happy.

No you don't see the world as I do, and I am not inferring that you have too...

Sugar coating? You discounted your claims with the words "often" and "rarely"??

Hopefully you don't offend a "Roza Shanina" type...

They will come up with a FINAL plan. They all ready said that EXISTING CONDITIONS will be addressed. OBAMMA had 6 years to fix the errors...

"PERMANENTLY"- Liberals are so emotional...the sky is not falling.

I emailed Webster, told him to repeal Obammacare and stop supporting the lazy!

ARE there absolutes with people? We ALL fall somewhere on the bell curve. Often in different places...for different things. There are a FEW women who can think logically and openmindedly...but not many. MOST are clouded by their emotions.

Probably propaganda...like our "Rosie the Riveter". Did women contribute...sure they did...did they do as good a job as men could have...no. Look at the pictures of the aircraft manufacturing...men are all over it...directing, correcting.

http://www.vintagewings.ca/Portals/0/Vintage_Stories/News%20Stories%20E/Manufacturing%20Victory/Factory60.jpg

"Roza Georgiyevna Shanina was a Soviet sniper during World War II who was credited with fifty-nine confirmed kills, including twelve soldiers during the Battle of Vilnius."

But these are men...

"Renowned United States Marine Corps sniper with 93 confirmed kills. A Finnish sniper, infamously known as "The White Death", who holds the record for highest number of confirmed sniper kills. Häyhä was credited with 505 confirmed sniper kills of Soviet soldiers accomplished in fewer than 100 days during the Winter War"

These are a bunch of staged propaganda pictures...

Honestly, I have tried to have a open and at time personal discussion on this subject.

I support welfare and food stamps for people as a hand up but not a vocation. I support what was once called workfare...you get support for a time until you find a job.

I DO NOT support a lifetime on welfare. But I don't mind some of my taxes going to help out the less fortunate.

Colorado is my home and has been since I was 16, I still spend my summers there. There is a very interesting reason why Colorado was the first state to legalize pot. I will assume you might not know the underlying reason. A number of years ago a tax hawk wrote a ballot initiative called the TABOR law or Tax Payer Bill of Rights which if passed would require a vote of the people. But perhaps the worst part of the law was if there was an excess of taxes at the end of the year would have to be returned to the people. So NO RAINY DAY FUND. Over the years the roads could not be repaired, parks were closed and school funding declined. I lost a tire to a pothole as did many others. There had to be an end to the standoff so came the ballot initiative to legalize recreational pot (medical pot was already legal) with all the proceeds public education. Our schools are well funded now. Colorado Springs actually passed a law to increase taxes to resurface the roads.

I will lighten up about the COPUFF thing, but the funny thing about that is I have always lived in Colorado Springs the most conservative county in Colorado and therefore pot
is not sold in that county. But that liberal town Manitou Springs is doing a booming business at Maggie's Farm!

I really do hope this clarifies my position on welfare.
