I am very happy to introduce you to Weston, a new addition to our family! The photo was taken, by the rescue group that ultimately took him in, just after surgery he needed to remove a large tumor from his ear. His story was sad, but thankfully he ended up in the right place. The rescue group and his foster mom know us (we adopted Buddy from them), and really wanted us to adopt Weston for various reasons. We met Weston at PetSmart with Buddy, and we were able to bring Weston home to see how he and Buddy would get along in "Buddy's house". The short of it is that they have a big brother/little brother act going on and it is fun to watch.

I am amazed that despite what Weston went through, he could still be such a happy little fella. He is in his forever home now, and we look forward to not only what he brings out in Buddy, but from us as well.

Please! Please! Support your local rescue groups. There are some amazing friends waiting for their forever homes and without the rescues, they might not have a chance. Their offer to us? Simple really, to enrich their future adopters lives.

OMG I love him! At first I thought he was still available for adoption and I was half way out the door to get him LOL. So glad he found a good home with you! Just a little jealous :)

I needed to see Weston and read your story this morning. I was beginning to think the world was all going to ...... in a handbasket.

Thank you for the boost of good things to think about. Please pet them both for me.

After having cats for nearly forty years (our Siamese Max died 18 months ago at 21 years of age; his mother lived to 21 also), we adopted a dog from Animal Rescue League. Abby Gale is an absolute angel. She has added much pleasure to our lives.

Congrats on your adoption.

What a wonderful story and a great message, for sure.
If you hear of any rescue yorkie or poodle mixes (I have allergies), please send me a PM.

There was a woman who ran the state adoption group for Yorkies whom a friend at Doggie Doo Run Run had told me about who lives quite close to DDRR in Glennview. He had been helping me look for a dog to replace Sport after he passed around March of 2014. I may have posted about it on TOTV. I will look around for the information. My friend is Pat Williams. A male Pat. Had two westies. The Yorkie group head was a close neighbor of Pat Williams.

It may be United Yorkie Rescue.

I appreciate each of you taking the time to post your notes and well wishes!

fromHHDS: Good luck in your help to re-homing as well. He looks like an interesting little guy and hopefully someone saw him (and adopted him) today.

Gracie: I gave them a few extra pets for you (truth be told, they kind of insisted on being petted ALOT....LOL)

GeoGeo: Good luck with your work on rescues as well. I do appreciate your efforts to help the rescues.

Bare: I'll keep my ears open, although it sounds like Tal might have a good shot at locating a contact for you. Should I hear of a potential furry friend for you, I'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks Tal for any assistance in helping another foster find a forever home.

Here is another shot of them after bringing them home from PetSmart...

Weston and Buddy are very cute, and so blessed to have found a great forever home.

I agree, the best breed of dog is a rescue. :doggie:
I think that rescues somehow realize they've been given a second chance. and that they appreciate their owners even more.
