"'alt-right' or 'alternative right' is a name currently embraced by some white supremacists and white nationalists to refer to themselves and their ideology, which emphasizes preserving and protecting the white race in the United States in addition to, or over, other traditional conservative positions such as limited government, low taxes and strict law-and-order. The movement has been described as a mix of racism, white nationalism and populism, ... criticizes "multiculturalism" and more rights for non-whites, women, Jews, Muslims, gays, immigrants and other minorities. Its members reject the American democratic ideal that all should have equality under the law regardless of creed, gender, ethnic origin or race.[1][39]"
Alt-right - Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt-right)
I present this because I believe that those on THIS FORUM that staunchly support Trump are NOT conservatives. I am a conservative.....been accused of being a "libtard" or "progressive" whatever either of those terms mean.
I represent conservatism...these people have gone to the extreme far right on here and while they firmly believe that they have "stood still" while all the bad folks moved left, in my opinion and others, they are the ones who ALSO moved but to the extreme far right.
"Long relegated to the cultural and political fringe, alt-right activists were among the most enthusiastic supporters of Donald Trump. Earlier this year, Breitbart.com executive Steve Bannon had declared the website “the platform for the alt-right.” By August, Bannon was appointed the CEO of the Trump campaign. In the wake of Trump’s victory, he’ll be joining Trump in the White House as a senior advisor.
"I’ve spent years extensively researching the American far right, and the movement seems more energized than ever. To its critics, the alt-right is just a code term for white nationalism, a much-maligned ideology associated with neo-Nazis and Klansmen. The movement, however, is more nuanced, encompassing a much broader spectrum of right-wing activists and intellectuals.
DOES any of this sound famaliar.....
"The primary issue for American white nationalists is immigration. They claim that high fertility rates for third-world immigrants and low fertility rates for white women will—if left unchecked—threaten the very existence of whites as a distinct race.
But even on the issue of demographic displacement, there’s disagreement in the white nationalist movement. The more genteel representatives of the white nationalism argue that these trends developed over time because whites have lost the temerity necessary to defend their racial group interests."
"Founded by Andrew Breitbart in 2007, Breitbart News has sought to be a conservative outlet that influences both politics and culture. For Breitbart, conservatives didn’t adequately prioritize winning the culture wars—conceding on issues like immigration, multiculturalism and political correctness—which ultimately enabled the political left to dominate the public discourse on these topics.
What Does the Alt-Right Movement Want? (http://www.newsweek.com/what-does-alt-right-movement-want-525351)
"Unlike old-school white nationalist movements, the alt-right has endeavored to create a self-sustaining counterculture, which includes a distinct vernacular, memes, symbols and a number of blogs and alternative media outlets.
Now that it has been mobilized and demonstrated its relevance (just look at the number of articles written about the movement, which further publicizes it), the alt-right is likely to grow, gaining a firmer foothold in American politics.

Seems to fit a very small number of regular posters on the Political Forum. I have met very few people here in the Villages who vocally express these views in public.

To be clear....my post was aimed at posters on this forum.
I agree, it does not represent everyday, regulator Villagers.
Fact is, posters on here would be shocked at what a minority they are.
Not speaking of all Trump supporters, but the number of extremists on this forum.

Now, do one about the radical left and see if the numbers outweigh the alt-right numbers. It doesn't matter, since everyone deserves to have their voice in an open forum. I can put up with both, the radical right and the radical left. It seems that the left are more nasty, but that is my take on it.

'They' should just be honest and change the name of their movement... to more accurately reflect their goal.
And that would be... "The First Reich of the USA." :ohdear:

Just as the vast majority of the villagers love Trump.
What do you think 90%?
Just because the minority are vicious illegal vocal sh!t does not increase their numbers.
People are tired of illegally. Get over it. It's time for law and order.
The villages are great because of law and order, and lots of rules.
Which is why I keep my HRC white cross under the eaves.
You are surrounded by Trump fans, you can only be vocal here. ... lol

So are you calling most of your neighbors poorly educated? Even the ones unfortunate enough to be your friends, the ones you hide your alt left views from.
When you quote, try to make some logical connection. Lol

I almost should apologize for this thread, but just to explain...
Thus far it is all the same bashing or preaching on here. I admit to bashing Trump because I find him personally repulsive, but wondered about why the lack of any civil conversation.
I think that those who are on here, are a majority of extremist leaning to alt right. The alt right is apparent with the race, woman, and immigrant bashing.
They are extremes and that does not lead to much discussion.
I have started threads on Iraq, Syria, deficit, and a few others and made my OP as neutral as possible as to party.
They do not even get reads, or any posts except to discuss the past administration or Clinton.
Not much doubt that this TOTV is the home of extremism. There can never be discussions with extremist. I know for a fact that many of my links are responded to with a smart crack with no reading or even an attempt to understand another point of view.
I began this thread because I feel comfortable in saying that this is an extremist forum.....many from the Alt Right, and those who are extreme and on the fringe of alt right.
It is nothing but parroting the message of those groups, ie. all liberals, democrats, whatever the name of the day is are bad people.
I find it quite humorous when I read one poster who uses the term progressive a lot....progressives are normally thought of as extreme liberals......this poster cannot see that he is the extreme on the other side.
Oh, and my comment about The Villages sort of makes my point. I was saying that on this forum, there are no, or very few conservatives that are not extreme or all the way alt right.
But that does not represent The Villages population I never said, or implied that Trump won big here and even me in my posts and threads support much of what he might do....my problem is with HIM.....
But that is quite it.....conversation does not happen here. It is a board of extremism, much of it all the way to alt right. I am proud of being a conservative, but very saddened by the move to such extremes by folks.

Your remarks show a lack of intelligence and imagination. Too much of a coward to tell your neighbors about your vulgar views. Probably another one with a Trump supportor spouse. Lol
Are holding hands with Tal at the dog park looking for his dog, while responding to totv?

Hispanics ARE becoming the majority. At current rates...within 30 years they are clearly the majority...both in numbers and politically. In 30 years this country WILL BE Mexico II. There is NO stopping it. Already Minorities are the majority for everyone below the age of 7. Joe Biden in a televised speech said that whites are now 49% of the population. You have doomed all future generations.

Every time I say...ok, relax he shut up...he starts again. Blasting his own FBI, because they would not roll over for him, for what he calls leaks and fake news.
Nixon tried the same thing...write a statement FIR the FBI and try to get them to release it. Didn't work in Nixons case and it appears to have irked the President.
How it can be FAKE is beyond me. Leaks, maybe.
Methinks he is now in that area of protesting too much.
