"Federal regulators on Monday will stop privacy regulations that were designed to safeguard consumers personal information from hackers and criminals". The FCC will release broadband companies from providing "reasonable" security to protect consumers information.
Eliminating regulations may help the commication industries make a few more bucks. This will definitely help make Russian hackers rich again.

Far too many gladly and freely give up their privacy.

You gladly, post private information on things like facebook.
You supply information to surveys with no control of where it will be used. Who will buy, who will sell this information.

Your statement, "Russian Hackers," is your parroting the democratic party PROPAGANDA. As to hackers, they can be of any nationality.

Years ago I completed a survey on line and deliberately supplied misinformation. Thus, on spokeo, it says I am well over 100 and have more money than TRUMP or BUFFET.

It is far too easy to get information about you. If, you research anything suddenly you will get ads to your computer trying to sell you a related product or service.

You visit a doctor. They always ask your date of birth and social security number. Everything they need for ID thieft.
We are all forced to supply this. Is this information secured-NOT REALLY. You don't even know who all has access-your insurance company, medicare, the housewife in the white robe working the desk.

Don't forget...you're tracked EVERYWHERE you go...just like an animal wearing a tracking collar...via your phone.
