Y'all remember when Obama was flying to Africa and did not allow some news media on the flight with whom he was in disagreement?
Do you remember during the sixties when the vice president smacked a member of the press? Do you remember when Kennedy spoke out against the press at the National Press Luncheon.
I do. Ain't new. Ain't nice but ain't new.

Trump v CNN
Obama v FOX
Oh, you hadn't read that Obama hated FOX News and ignored them for 8 years because FOX was the one of the few news agencies telling the truth about Obama's lawlessness. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

a true check and balance press would use the same investigative approach in a non-partisan nature and for the common good.
We know it is not because Obama, Hillary, Pelosi, Reid, et al ran lawless for as long as they have been in politics and for issues that were based in fact

Most likely not.

What MANY believe are "facts"...quite often are not.
Are you religious? Do you believe there are ANY "facts" to back up the claims?
Do you believe the "races" are equal? Do you believe there are ANY facts to back that up?
Do you believe that man and woman are EQUAL? Do you have ANY facts to back that up?
As you can see...often we THINK there are facts to back up what we believe...but in actuality there are none...we're simply taking it for granted that what EVERYONE else believes MUST be true. But it's not. You ARE told what to believe. It's part of society. But...unfortunately, there is social engineering that works to CHANGE societies norms and redirect society into new directions. It began in earnest in the 60s. It MUST be reversed.

Changes.
Major news sources are evaporating. In the 1960's there were close to 50 today there are 5. We are discussing politics but as an example Disney is one of the largest owners of news sources. What is the likely hood of any negative Disney stories? Of the five major news sources four lean left.
A minor recent exaple. We saw the press SPIN Trumps comments that he saw Muslims cheering the destruction of the world trade center and the killing of 3,000 AMERICANS.
I personally saw the same a few days after 9/11 on the streets of Brooklyn. I cannot tell you what happened a few days before or after as I was in Brooklyn on business.

Wasn't right then. Isn't right now. A free press is part of the American fabric. It's essential to a democracy. Abolition of the free press is one of the first steps to totalitarianism. I'm certainly not worried about Trump becoming a despot, because he isn't smart enough, but some of the people around him (Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller, Kellyanne Conway, Betsy Devos, Steve Pence, Steve Mnuchin) are.
At some point responsible Republicans (and there are many) must stand up and denounce Trumpism for what it is. They lie constantly, issue "alternative facts." and discriminate against organizations that we know are legitimate sources of news. McConnell, Ryan, Grassley and your ilk, grow a set of................courage.

Guess you weren't paying attention to President Trump's speech where he said that he has no problem when the press tells the truth about him, even when it is negative, but only when they make stuff up that isn't true? He says one thing, but when the press gets through giving their "analysis" of what he said, it is hardly recognizable. I am perfectly capable of listening to what he is saying (or any other President, official, etc.) without having to have the press "analyze" it for me. How many times do they start out by saying, "What xxx means by that is.......". Unless they are talking in a language other than English, I am plenty smart enough to understand the meaning of what has been said. I don't need them to parse what they want me to hear and then put their "explanation (analysis) on it.
I can and will hold President Trump or anyone else accountable for what they say and then do. So far, looks like he's doing exactly what he said he would do. Much has just not been in the time frame he projected, but seems to have people working on getting there. At least the things he has been doing have been up front and not a "gotta read it to know".
Funny, how when past Presidents said something it ended up being just fine...especially with the liberals. All you have to do is Google their speeches and hear them for yourself. You don't need the media to "analyze" it for you.

I'm throwing the BS flag.
The ONLY time Chump claims "fake news".... is when something critical of him is written.
He absolutely cannot stand any criticism, which is why he reverts to campaign mode rally's...to try and bolster his fragile ego. :ohdear:
And this coming from the scumbag who claimed for years, and even promised to provide proof that NEVER materialized...that Obama was not a U.S. citizen.
And that's the guy you choose to believe?

By the way, in his own words....the proof about Obama was coming from an "anonymous" source. That only works FOR him. At almost the exact moment he was railing about the use of anonymous sources, his press secty was quoting "anonymous" sources.

For Trump, the media is vital. He only...and ONLY needs to be in caps denounces the media when they are not complimenting him.
I have been saying about this man for a long long time. He is not an honest man...the media knows that and all of his, and heck even posters on here, trash any media that does not compliment.
He rails against what he calls "fake news" which is defined totally and very specifically, ONLY news that does not compliment him.
He then uses what he calls "fake news" to rebut other items.
This is the President of the United States, and he needs to be trusted, and he is not...and therein is the problem.
He speaks on Tuesday night, and why in the world would anyone believe him?
The press is everything to Donald Trump, from interior décor — his Trump Tower office was plastered wall to wall with framed magazine covers reflecting his face back at him like an infinity mirror — to daily reading. For decades every morning, he had his assistant print out a sheaf of stories published about him and keep a store of videotapes for ego gratification. Once Trump became a Twitter addict, this morphed into an incestuous, vertiginous spiral, as he got upset and shot back against news reports he did not like.
His campaign staff “cracked the code for tamping down his most inflammatory tweets,” Tara Palmeri reported in Politico last week, by ensuring “his personal media consumption includes a steady stream of praise. And when no such praise was to be found, staff would turn to friendly outlets to drum some up — and make sure it made its way to Trump’s desk.”
Talk about fake news.
He is the biggest story on the planet, “King Lear meets Rodney Dangerfield,” as Lloyd Grove tweeted after Trump’s recent press conference. As our new president is well aware, he’s a rainmaker and a troublemaker for media.

Thank goodness Rockface showed up and pasted what we need to read...
Now don't go thinking he has any thoughts of his own, he reads someone else's thoughts and copies them for the rest of us to read, sure he has provided a link too, but really we need to read what he has decided we need to read...................
