Dear Guest:
Every year we read of the "new words" being added to the dictionary, when it struck me that one word seems to be missing from our lexicon, wholesome. Defined wholesome means
1
: promoting health or well-being of mind or spirit
2
: promoting health of body
3
a : sound in body, mind, or morals : having the simple health or vigor of normal domesticity
4
a : based on well-grounded fear : prudent <a wholesome respect for the law>b : safe <it wouldn't be wholesome for you to go down there — Mark Twain>
Why is we no longer are able to describe people in our society as wholesome? Wholesome use to be what people strived for. To be described as wholesome was a real compliment.
Think back as how the body was considered the vessel that carried the soul and it should be looked after with great care. Think back about the habits and manner of people we referred to as wholesome. They were polite, gracious, spoke well, avoided expletives and had well practiced reticence. They respected the law, respected the rules, and engaged in civil discourse .
Today we live in what I term the Kardashian nation. Some of it evident in Political Talk threads on this Board What a contrast in lifestyles from then and now.

You don't hear about it because the NEW majority doesn't practice it. Whites are the ones who practice "wholesomeness", minorities do not. Minorities are the new majority. "Wholesomeness" started going away in the 60s as they began to grow in numbers.
Wholesomeness is a WHITE thing.
What is seen as wholesome? White Americans and white northern europeans. Because that IS what is wholesome. Is MLK Blvd wholesome? Is the Barrio? WAS the villages before it became a city and began to "diversify" in thought? As the villages liberalized...it lost its wholesomeness. Thanks ladies...you ruined another one...time to move on with your "causes" and destroy another "white man built paradise".

Dear Poster:
A student group at the University of Michigan is demanding the college set aside a special space for students of color—that won’t allow white people.
The group, called Students4Justice, specifically wants the university "create a permanent designated space on central campus for Black students and students of color to organize, and do social justice work,” but does not specify what kind of work that would be.
University of Michigan is already spending $10 million to build a new multicultural center—but, because it would be open to people of all races (including white people), Students4Justice decided it will not be enough and is demanding, in addition, that the college also creates a segregated space.
Constitution Website 2/24/2017
I asked in another thread if a separatist was a racist and was challenged as being racists.
Issues such as race and now Christianity continue to divide our nation.
My post was about wholesomeness. Its a state of being a lifestyle an attitude, a notion that feeds self respect
I admire a person who is wholesome irrespective of color, national origin or religion.

Yet you admire our President, the personal antithesis of wholesomeness. He has not/does not live it, either morally or even "in body". He does not promote, except when using the TelePrompter. He refelects mean spiritiness in his actions and words.

Examples please. Because he has done more more more people than Obama ever has in his entire lifetime. He is "mean spirited?" How so? Because he cares enough about America to want to protect Americans from terrorists, criminals and a failed health care system? Sounds to me like you have had too many cups of that fruity drink that has been endorsed by Jim Jones.

Let's not talk Trump just yet. Instead let's discuss the nature of my topic.
Do you agree/disagree with the position of my topic?
Do you agree/disagree with the definition of wholesomeness as described above?
Has the idea of wholesomeness lost its meaning in our society?
If wholesomeness has lost its meaning and thus its desire to attain and embrace it..Why?
Do you believe wholesomeness is something people should strive to attain again?
What affect, if any does wholesomeness have on our society?
If you believe the state of wholesomeness to be a positive thing, then how does our society regain this state of being?
Trump is a controversially figure and hated by many and then loved by many. So either way an opinion is a biased one. and quite frankly trump wasn't elected because he was viewed as being wholesome. he was elected because voters are tired of broken promises and weak politicians. Trump has been hit by everything the progressives can throw at him and he hasn't blinked yet.
Instead of Trump let's look to his kids. do you believe they represent the definition of wholesome? I do.

White people are being segregated FROM...just like we did in the old days with blacks. These are the places they are making plans to make our lives miserable.
We're divided because we're a different species. You REALLY need to get that through your head...we are NOT the same genetically. We are as different as wolves and dogs. Whites are the dogs and blacks the wolves...meaner, stronger...but not as smart.
I understand what you said wholesomeness is...and ONLY white people fit the bill. REALLY think about it. AS a PEOPLE, which race is capable of "wholesomeness"? Blacks on average don't fit. Hispanics on average don't fit. Wholesomeness almost defines 50s WHITE America.
Sure...but you won't find many "wholesome" blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, and others. You WILL find a lot of wholesomeness in WHITE places.

1. You make your decision on the Trump children based on much much less information that I know of. The boys were involved with a few nefarious websites but I caanotbsay how "wholesome" they are based on such little information. I certainly felt more wholesome fron the Nixon family.
2. I do not disagree on any of journal definitions about wholesome.
3. BUT someone as you, who have raved about THE MAN Donald Trump, cannot simply leave that out on here. Not after you have defended him totally and completely...much much further than simply his policies. If you notice the racial posts on here...we'll, that is your group who you refuse to criticize, but attack people like me who are being honest.
I m a conservative and part of being a conservative is following "wholesome" morally sound, ethical, and honest straightforward people.
Again, Donald Trump represents the very antithesis of the charastitics I support. If you want "wholesomeness" in the country, the White House is a great place to start.
The election represents our lack of respect for wholesomeness.

I would posit that a large swath of Americans have clearly spoken, that they reject 'wholesome' ...and fully embrace the scumminess that Trump represents.
No sane person could ever hold Chump up...as being 'wholesome.'
In fact, his behavior is the antithesis of wholesome and represents the inner darkness and hate...that a lot of his supporters have secretly harbored.
He has allowed them to let loose their inner ugliness and they now have someone that can speak for those demons that they have, up until now...had to stifle in and let stew in their bellies.
We see it right here in the Political Forum, on a microcosm level, that those who previously were reluctant to let their bigotry/racism/misogyny/xenophobia show in public...now feel emboldened to spew their true feelings. :ohdear:

Go into the welfare office...look around...what do you see? Black and Hispanics women and their kids. The FEW whites you see...usually have black kids.
It's time to TURN OFF the lying TV. STOP reading the lying newspapers.

Did I not tell explain that this thread was not about Trump but about the absence of the idea of "wholesomeness" as an attainable state of being.
But despite that admonition and to carry on the conversation I said that frankly Trump was not voted president based on "wholesomeness"but on his promise to Make America Great Again". Honestly i do not believe there is a need to discuss Trump with progressives because they hate him so much they have lost all objectivity .

Think of "wholesome" things and places...what did you think of?
White things and places. Did you think of the inner city? Did you think of MLK Blvd? Did you think about minorities? No. You thought about a small little farm with chickens and a cow, in a valley, the Alps perhaps...and a WHITE family going about their chores. You DIDN'T think about the inner city slums...because they are NOT wholesome places or people. You ARE allowed to generalize when it fits.

Can or does anyone on Political Talk want to have a serious conversation as to why the idea of wholesomeness in our society has left our consciousness? Can one conclude then that we all are included in the kardashian nation?
Personal Best Regards:
I AM having a serious discussion...minorities...they LACK "wholesomeness" and as the country become more and more...them...the country loses "wholesomeness".
Look at the Kardashians...it's ALL about minorities. EVERY ONE OF THEM is involved with minorities. Look at TV shows and movies...all FULL of minorities playing "impossible" roles as the leader, the boss, the "smart one". It's ALL fake. It's ALL to condition us to accept lies, to accept them.
Minorities are being portrayed as something they are not. I saw Hidden Figures...and it's a propaganda movie. The "smart one"...was NOT the "smartest in NASA"...the computer one...was NOT fiddling around on a mainframe alone. Look at what IDIOTS they made the engineers out to be. Oh look...an obvious wire out of place...really? The whole movies was a propaganda piece. Their GREAT achievements were commonplace events for the white people working there. That's what I dislike most...the blatant propping up, lionizing those not deserving. A trophy for everyone.
DID a black lady double check the computers numbers before Glenn would take off? Maybe. The rest...doubtful. Did a black lady learn programming and teach some other blacks? Maybe. But she didn't do all the rest of the BS they showed. I'm sure nobody noticed her playing around on their new VERY expensive tool. They NEED it right away...and there is NOBODY working on getting it to work? Come on...you're peeing on my leg and telling me it's raining. What was the others contribution? Oh...she got into night classes to become an engineer. Wow...big deal. IF the rest of her race would show the same drive towards education...maybe there wouldn't be segregation. Do you think REAL, inner city, "black part of town", blacks went to see this movie? No. This movies was made for white people to see...white women specifically. To convince us that they are our equal and we are holding them back and we should push for their inclusion.
Theses are not REAL black people. REAL black people live in the inner cities and the black part of town. REAL black people do not act this way.

After being subjugated to 8 years of the corrupt Clintons and another 8 years of radical Obama and his hate speech, I will not hold Trump to "wholesome." But, I did vote for him to lead our country and I expect him to show us some real CHANGE. Not the perverted word of "change" that Obama used. And it appears that Trump is living up to and so far surpassing my expectations. You see, unlike the simple minded Americans that insist on Hollywood celebrity personality in a president, I only require him to do what is right for America, not what is most convenient to get re-elected. It is refreshing that he is not a politician. It is also unfortunate that he will be required to emulate a politician to fit into D.C. government. I do not care about his personality or what his wife is wearing, or what his daughter is selling. I will leave "PETTY" to the leftards.

To the women...they do all the petty complaining.
Think about it...the MAJORITY of those who hate Trump and want him out...at ALL costs...for ANY reason...are women.
Why? Because they don't like the way he talks? Because he ignores them? Because he may take away all their perks? He may take away their partners in crime...the minorities? They work together to take down white men. Together they're massively the majority. Women are 51% as is...add the minority men and you've got 75% the population "against" 25% white men.
How CAN 25% of the population be so powerful? So dominating? Control so much? Be so in need of attenuating?
