I couldn't find a household hint section so I will post under general discussion...I am sure it will be removed to the proper forum if it doesn't belong here.

Easy, environmentally friendly mosquito control. A bottle of Listerine is the key. Put it in a spray bottle and spray around decks, swing sets. patio furniture, the picnic table etc. It will rid the area of the buzzing pests and can last up to 2 days. You can even spray around door and window frames and the varmints won't sneak in that way.

Haven't tried it myself but according to an article I read it saved a picnic that was becoming to difficult to continue because of the mosquitos swarming around.

I wonder if Scope or a less expensive brand works as well.

Time to experiment. I'd rather smell like mouthwash than deet!

I learned this trick on a tour of Costa Rica. Vitamin B1 500 mg per day. It is well known. Many say it doesn't work many say it does. It has worked for me for 4 years. I do not use deet etc. The Costa Ricans seem to like it.
so do I. It Takes 2 weeks to get throughout your system
