Hi TOV folks,
Just purchased in Pine Ridge and trying to decide What to do about:
Lawn Program
Pest Program
Shrub Program
Shrub Trimming
Bed Weeding
Mowing Service
Seems overwhelming! Suggestions, I am not going to do myself.

Don't get Service Master. Weeds everywhere. Didn't weed shrub beds, trimmed bushes 2 times last year. Sometimes 6 weeks between mowing. All this was included. I am doing it myself now.

Agree - Deans does do it all. We inherited them when we bought our house and have been pleased with their service.

Please don't hire a pest control company to do regular spraying. Most Villagers will tell you you must do it when in fact, you probably don't.
You may have to do your lawn for mole crickets once a year, or treat a fire ant mound (just sprinkle the granules yourself),
but inside your house, you probably don't need to do anything.
We have lived her going on four years. Except for an occasional bug, we have never had a problem.
Most people here will tell you that you have to have pest control service. Not so!
These companies will put the fear of God in you, and so will your neighbors. Don't listen to them. Play the wait and see game.
There is much too much use of chemicals in this community.

We went with Deans. We were impressed with the thorough presentation and in depth knowledge of everything from sod, soil, pests, termites and the fact that none of there services are sub contracted. They also have many homes contracted in the Pine Ridge area.

Talk to your neighbors, especially those with nice lawns. You'll get the best service if several on your block use the same people. The one caveat, if they use Service Smart, run like Hades. They might do a good job in the beginning since it is a new neighborhood, but sooner or later they'll do their usual awful job and you're stuck with an annual contract.
