IHOP on 466 was open on Christmas last year and I drove by a couple of times and the lot was always full.

There will be a few restaurants open for Christmas Dinner, mostly the Country Clubs. However, in the past, for some reason, they don't advertise this fact until a week or two before the holiday.

Amelia's at the Waterfront Inn always has a nice Christmas buffet. They are open everyday of the year because of the hotel.

I was looking at TV Gourmet Club restaurant review and noticed a few of the country clubs are shown as being open on Christmas day. Try this link but if it does not work and takes you someplace else just cut and paste it into your browser's URL line.

This is page 1 and all the restaurants listed are accessible by golf cart. Page 2 require driving but are a short distance away.
Also remember that just because it says open on Christmas that could have been last year and they may not be doing it again this year.

If Christmas is as nice as Thanksgiving was at Amelia's, I would try them. Our Thanksgiving meal was great........

We are coming for the week of Thanksgiving! We enjoyed our first 4th of July in our home and the festivities in Market Square. Looking forward to adding our next holiday to the "list".
Do you need reservations for the country clubs or Amelia's? Do they offer the traditional Thanksgiving dinner? :icon_hungry:
Are there any special activities during Thanksgiving week?

Most of the country clubs do offer a Thanksgiving dinner. Some request reservations and others do not. A week or so prior to the holiday the ads will be in the Daily Sun. Legacy does not take reservations and the wait can be long. We tried Palmer's last year and they were almost booked full but we did get a table on the patio and had an excellent turkey dinner.

You won't be disappointed. The Country Club buffets and Amelia's at The Waterfront are delicious in lovely settings. We moved here Nov. 1st two years ago, so we didn't know what to do for Thanksgiving. At that time, we went to one of the Country Clubs (can't remember which now!) but it was very festive and the food is always good. Oh, if you're here around Christmas, you won't want to miss the Christmas Parade! It's great fun! Happy Holidays!!!

A table on the patio at the end of November sounds like heaven to this Chicagoan!
