I have been in TV for five years and have moved once. We have a sweet Black Lab dog and walk him most every morning. We always clean up after him no matter where he decides to do his thing. One other thing we do is carry a half gallon milk jug filled with water. Once the dog urinates or marks on a fire hydrant or a lawn we simply use the water to pour on the spot therefore lessening the possible brown spot that is created. I have seen only one other person doing this. I wish more dog owners would. We spend a lot of money keeping lawns beautiful in TV. Just a suggestion.

OK, but who's gonna do it for every wild animal that goes in the yard? Or the birds? It's not just dogs who do their thing outside. And there are not a lot of yellowed or browned lawns from it.

How about just not letting your dog go onto other people's property?

I admire your efforts, op. But I'very never understood the concerns about yard browning. Our dog pees in our yard (our yard only.:) ) and we've never had brown spots.

Why do dog owners even THINK it's OK for their dog to use someone else's yard?

I wish someone would pick up after the wild rabbits.

I'm retired. I'll do it. Just give me a call.

Because they think their "precious angel" should go where he/she wants.

How about draining your dog on your own property then taking Fido for a walk.

You evidently do not have a dog. Dogs, mark where other dogs have been. If I walk him in the neighborhood am I to just make sure he goes in the street?:doggie: He goes in my yard and I do the same thing.

My large dog goes every time in my yard before we leave but most large breed dogs mark where other dogs have been. Guess I will start letting him go in the street and let the walkers step in it.

Thank You!! That way I don't have to step in it when I mow!

It seems like female pooches often pee a lot in one place while male dogs go various places marking their territory.

I almost always have to pull Beau away before he pees in Pet Smart or some other pet store no matter how many places I take him before going in there in an attempt to empty his bladder. He almost always has a little stored up.

I do pull him away before he can get something out unless distracted I am distracted by a dog or a cute woman.

I could not agree more with you, Mrs. Robinson. My wife was walking our dog awhile back and a very rude neighbor yelled at her because our dog WALKED on his grass (did NOT do his business on the grass). She apologized and he kept up the rude behavior. I say get a life and kiss my a**

You have a leash and a street what is the problem keeping the dog off the lawn. You folks are Never wrong.

I have 3 dogs who do not do their business anywhere but OUR yard. I just have this thing about courtesy.

Beau encountered Sammy a few days ago. A rather territorial dachshund. Sammy wanted to take a piece out of Beau but was stopped suddenly by the electric fence. I guess that is one way to make your dogs go only in your yard.

Beau will go in out yard if is is really cold and he does not want to walk anywhere but it is hard to just make him go if he wants some actual exercise. I pick up his poop and he usually dribbles here and there will marking where other dogs have gone. Usually in bushes and fire hydrants and sometimes in drive ways and often on his paw as he is not a good director of his pee.

Thank you for your courtesy. Just wish more folks would have the same courtesy and keep their dogs off of other yards. I don't blame the dogs, it is the owners that allow it.

I am a former dog owner that made sure our dog did not take a step on others property.

Ditto times two!

It always amazes me that a lot of those who otherwise would be pretty strong on 'personal rights'...have no compunction when their pet infringes on other people's property. :ohdear:

What exactly IS that about?

We have 2 female dogs that only urinate in our yard. We walk them down the middle of the street and immediately pickup their poop. A couple of weeks ago we were walking the dogs and I saw a woman from a street over by my house let out her retractable leash for her dog to go all over my lawn. Told her what I thought and she was not happy. She came back to take a picture of our sign with our names and street number. I guess she thought I was wrong and she was correct!

In spite of having to deal with an obvious a self-centered jerk...you did the right thing.

You're the type of neighbor...that decent people wished they had. :ho:

You are not a considerate dog owner. You should keep your dog out of other people's yards. Simple as that.

Love that picture.

Live and let poop as long as you clean it up. Kind of hard when it is runny.

Because of the hot street our dogs walked 6:30 5 & 9.
The heat has not been a problem. People need to keep their dogs off of other peoples lawns.

Walk your dogs in the town square between 5 to 9 pm. Pavers much cooler than asphalt. Solves the private property issues. Sure to get you the attention you disparately seek. Wonder how much amenity fees go into constructing and maintaining dog parks.
